Our pre-school room have been exploring road safety learning how we can cross the road safely, identifying when it is safe and not safe and the different things we can use to help us cross the road. 🚦🚧

We have added visual aids to our small world area to encourage discussion during role play with the cars and even added our very own zebra crossing to practice entering and exiting the area safely. 🦓

The children have had a road safety experience while on our bikes in the garden learning the traffic light system with a lollipop person there to control the traffic and allow our friends to cross safely. 🍭

We have been singing a new song ‘twinkle twinkle traffic light’ again supporting the children’s learning of the traffic light system through fun song and actions. 🚦 There has been lots of discussion around road safety. SIMOA has been helping the children to stay (S)afe through role play. 🐘

We have welcomed a special new friend to our pre-school room this week. Our Mid Mouse is here to support our children who are transitioning to school this year. The children were so excited to meet him and have named him “squeaky.”
Squeaky will be bringing lots of fun transition stories, activities and fun over the coming weeks. 🐭🐭
