Hi everyone, I hope you're all safe and well!

I've had some enquiries recently about when Art Spark will be back and I'm sorry to say the short answer is that it won't be, at least not in the near future.

My working hours have changed through Covid and I've thought long and hard about how I could keep up with the art club too, but I just can't manage it.

It's not a decision I've come to lightly. I've loved building it up over the years from scratch to how popular it had become and it is one of my proudest achievements!

I'll really miss all the children who participated over the time it was running and I wish you all the very best. I'll keep the page open anyway, just in case I'm able to start up again in the future.

Hi everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and staying safe in these strange times. I’m sorry for not posting sooner, but there really has been nothing to tell you all. That has not changed, but I figured I really should put out a message just to reaffirm the situation.

All Renfrewshire Council buildings remain closed for the foreseeable future and I’ve no idea when things will safely be able to return to normal. If I’m honest, I think like a lot of people I thought this would all be over by now and services would all be resumed, but sadly we all know that’s not happened.

I’m sorry I don’t have any more information than that at the moment. I have started a new teaching job, under a different authority and that is keeping me super busy, but I do miss all the children and hope that we can all be back together soon.

My kindest thoughts for all your families. 😘

Hi everyone!

I hope everyone is well and keeping busy in this strange time. I’m missing our weekly arts and crafts classes and seeing you all, but hopefully it’ll not be too long till we’re all back to normal.

I’m watching Kirstie Allsopp crafting away on Channel 4 just now and she’s using lots of things from around her house and garden. Imagine my surprise when she just been showing how to weave on a cardboard loom. We’re very good at that already!

Tomorrow night will go ahead as planned, but I’ve decided to make it the last night for the moment.

I could have continued as the school are not closed yet, but I feel it wouldn’t be fair, to put vulnerable groups at risk.

There is one more week that everyone has paid for, so I’ll carry it forward to whenever we’re able to resume. I hope this is ok with everyone. I’m really sad about it, but hopefully it’s not for too long!

Hi everyone,

Classes will be on as normal from Wednesday. We have 3 weeks left until the Easter holidays unless current circumstances change with Renfrewshire Council. Of course I will keep you fully updated of any changes as soon as I know.

Please be assured that although paint splashed, all surfaces will be fully cleaned before each class. The children are welcome to bring hand sanitiser if they wish and time will be given for them to wash their hands at the end of class too.

This week we are making beautiful gifts for all the ladies out there next Sunday, so no pictures to reveal the surprises!

Thank you to everyone who came along to our Sparkers show of work on Wednesday. A lot of creativity has gone into the last month or so and seeing it all come together was fabulous!

It was nice for me to be able to catch up with parents for a quick chat too!

Remember, there are NO CLASSES this week due to my work commitments and we are back to normal on the 18th March.

So tonight’s the night for our show of work in the older class at 8:30pm. Everyone’s work is amazing and I’m sure you’ll love it.

Tea, coffee and cake will be available too.

We will be in the big hall tonight for both classes, for one night only.

Our younger class are working with pattern to create a lovely Easter basket.

I’m hoping to do a show of work for the younger class before summer, but I’ll let you all know dates well in advance!
