Sneak Peak at our nursery garden

Over the past year we have been working hard to develop our outdoor area. We are extremely lucky to have access to such a vast outdoor space and wanted to make the most of it for our children.

The children now benefit from specific areas for planting and growing, physical play and exploring nature and the environment.

The children absolutely love our new adventure playground/ climbing area and mud kitchen built by Garden Gecko

Local dance class for children aged 2+. Classes commence on 25th October

On Friday the staff team had great fun participating in Outdoor Learning training with Learning through Landscapes Scotland. Whilst having loads of fun den building and exploring loose parts outdoors, the team were able to learn valuable new skills that they can transfer into their practice with the children. Can’t wait to see all the expert den builders within the nursery soon (staff and children!).

Last week the children all went to see the pantomime Aunt Alma's Attic. All of the children (and adults) had a fantastic time. Massive thank you to PACE Youth Theatre!

Rainbow Nursery was branded “unsatisfactory” when inspectors made an unannounced visit to the Shortroods base in September 2023, with those visiting the premises forced to take immediate action to ensure children’s safety.

Parent and Child Play Group Week 4

Caroline, our Senior Early Years Practitioner has started up a parent and child group which aims to support children with social and communication needs through play. This week the children participated in a range of different activities including bucket time, shaving foam spaghetti, gloop, outdoor play and a snack time.

This week the children participated in a range of different activities including bucket time, fizzy juice explosion, pom Pom posting, outdoor play and a snack time.

We look forward to seeing the progress throughout the upcoming weeks.

Fun Fridays 🤪🥳

On the last Friday of each month the whole nursery participates in Fun Friday. Each fun Friday has a different theme and we ask that everyone participating brings in a small donation for our local foodbank.

September’s Fun Friday was pyjama day and everyone made a fantastic effort, even our manager Alan took part!
