Now that GR80 is officially out there, it feels like a good moment to say thank you. Weโve been quietly working on this since May 2025. What started as the germ of an idea has grown considerably, and we simply wouldnโt have reached this point without the encouragement, enthusiasm, ideas and practical help of a lot of people. ๐

Weโve announced our first events at Paisley Town Hall, thereโs plenty more to come, and people are already approaching us with their own ideas for GR80.

We want GR80 to grow beyond the events we organise ourselves - something that venues, musicians, artists, performers, schools, community groups, businesses and organisations across Paisley can get involved in and make their own.

Weโre a small team and weโre not precious about feedback. If something could be better, tell us. If weโve got something wrong, tell us. Got a brilliant idea? Definitely tell us!
Weโll listen, learn and improve - and, with something this ambitious, weโll occasionally get things wrong. Weโre human ๐ช
We may even make the odd typo. ๐
All we ask is that criticism is constructive and comes with a little courtesy and respect. ๐ซก

Our intention is pretty simple: to create the best celebration we possibly can of Gerry, his music, his legacy and the town that helped shape him.
We wonโt get absolutely everything right.
