Yesterday I spent seven hours on the road and the rest of the day in a conference room at Jury's Inn Birmingham. But I now know much more about the new AQA Physics A level, particularly the new practical assessment that applies to all exam boards.

I can still remember from when I was about eight years old being woken up in the middle of the night and being driven down to Goodrington beach in Dad's white Morris Minor to use the coin-in-the-slot telescope to look at a lunar eclipse. There's another opportunity to make memories this Sunday night, The Moon will move into the Earth's shadow from 2:07 to 3:11 am BST and emerge from 4:23 to 5:27 am BST.
