We are delighted to announce that Mackenzie Alexander will be joining our faculty as a Guest Tap Teacher. Mackenzie will be creating new festival choreography and, from September, will also be assisting with classes from September, specialising in the tap genre.

We are incredibly excited to welcome Mackenzie to our faculty and are confident that his expertise, creativity, and passion for tap will be a wonderful asset to our students and their programmes.

For anyone who may not yet be familiar with Mackenzie, please find his truly amazing biography below.

We look forward to an exciting and inspiring collaboration ahead...........

MACKENZIE ALEXANDER

Mackenzie started his dance training at the age of 3 across all dance disciplines.
Tap was always his favourite style so he joined Tap Attack when he was 9 years old, which lead to him competing with Team GB from the age of 11.
He went on to win 11 world gold medals, 3 times as a soloist which is the best performance of any GB dancer.

Along the way he also won the All England Tap Soloist award, and performed on the main stage at Move It, London.

He started training at Wilkes Academy on a 100% scholarship when he was 16.

He is currently a member of The OKR Youth Tap Company in London and he often teaches there.
He was invited to perform in the gala at London Tap Festival in 2025, and 2026.
And he has just had an invitation to perform in Japan in 2027!

He is the Creative Director of TapStream, a brand new online Advanced Tap Training Program.
This is a comprehensive, multi-level program that offers students additional training at home and he has subscribers from all over the world.

He has been lucky enough to have won scholarships to:
DC Tap Festival, USA
Brno Tap Festival, Czech Republic
Pop Tap Festival, Italy
Dubrovnik Tap Festival, Croatia
London Tap Festival, UK
Stockholm Tap Festival, Sweden
Taptastic Festival, Germany
Horizon Tap Festival, Czech Republic
And he continues to train with the best tap teachers, masters, and choreographers around the world.

Mackenzie is really looking forward to working with the students at The Alison Axford Theatre School and sharing his extensive knowledge and experience with them.
