Lots of Easter fun in the garden this week with our annual egg hunt and egg rolling and finally our Easter hat parade with some wonderful creations.

🐣 Next Wednesday is our Easter Fun Afternoon!
We look forward to welcoming all of our families into preschool for our Easter Hat Parade and Songs.
The children will be taking part in Easter Egg hunts and egg rolling competitions throughout the week!

🏴‍☠️ We’ve had great fun sailing the seven seas in our pirate ship for World Book Day!

The children made pirate hats, drew treasure maps, panned for gold and jewels in our sand pit and sailed our ship to many different places this week.
Even our snack times had a pirate twist, with the fruit being served out of a pirate ship!

Next week we will be celebrating World Book Day by becoming pirates!
Hopefully everyone has received their book token. We do have some spare tokens so please just ask on the door if you haven’t.

Last week we were incredibly lucky to be invited to the church to have a small talk by David, one of the bell ringers. He showed the children how the bells worked and demonstrated the different tones of each bell. The children were then invited to have a go at playing them!

As it was Burn’s night last weekend we have been enjoying a few Scottish traditions this week.
We learnt that you need lots of bouncy energy for the Highland Fling and a lot of breath to make a note when playing the bagpipes!
The children have been busy in the kitchen baking shortbread to enjoy at our snack times as well as taste testing haggis.

Finally using thistle pictures as inspiration, the children worked with an adult to create their our water colour painting. We are incredibly impressed with the end results and they are now proudly displayed in our snack room

At the end of last week Action for Children visited preschool to drop off Bookstart packs for the older children in our setting.
We hope our families enjoy sharing the stories and have fun completing the activities!

For the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch this weekend we have been busy making bird feeders to attract the birds into our wildlife garden. We then set up a watch station to record the different breeds on our monitoring sheet.
For our craft activities we have been making Pompom birds to hang from our ceilings. As well as working on our cutting and sticking skills to create a large collage bird.

We’ve had a fun filled December here at preschool, it’s always one of our favourite times of year!
From making our birdhouse advent calendar, to feeding the reindeer. As well as running our own Santa’s workshop and the many Christmas crafts and baking. We’ve enjoyed it all!
We wrapped up the festivities with a Christmas party and a visit from Santa to deliver each child a present.
That just leaves us to say Merry Christmas and we look forward to welcoming all the children back on Monday 5th January!

‘We’re going on an elf hunt’ was our Christmas 2025 play.
We are so proud of all the children and the hard work they put in to learning their roles and the songs.
What a lovely way to start off the Christmas festivities!
