This week in the big room, we explored nature in a creative and exciting way by making our very own Stick Men! 🍃
We set up a lovely table with an example Stick Man and a variety of resources, including sticks, leaves, lolly pop sticks, pipe cleaners, and pom poms. The children were free to choose what they wanted to use to bring their ideas to life. ✨
It was wonderful to see the children enjoying the freedom to select their own resources, using their imagination, and expressing their creativity in such unique ways.

We are delighted to share that at our Midvale Road Nursery in Paignton our team member, Gemma, has successfully achieved their SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) qualification.
This is a significant accomplishment that reflects their dedication, professionalism, and commitment to supporting all children in reaching their full potential.

What do you do when a child challenges you to a bike race?
At our Midvale Road Nursery in Paignton we accept the challenge!
Though both competitors tried honourably for first prize, we can indeed say that the practitioners were firmly in second place 😊

In the baby room at our Midvale Road in Paignton we have been exploring the universe.
Over the past few days, our youngest explorers have been journeying through space , not in rockets, but through their senses.
There were moments of wide-eyed wonder as little hands reached out to touch the “stars,” curious gazes following light as it danced across the room from our galaxy projector. Through these sensory experiences, the babies began their own playful exploration of space — feeling, seeing, and discovering in ways that are just right for them.
A magical, twinkling adventure where imagination, curiosity, and sensory discovery met among the stars. ⭐

At our Midvale Road Nursery in Paignton Spring has softly awakened our garden, wrapping it in light, colour, and quiet wonder.

Today, beneath the branches of the tree in our garden, the children enjoyed discussing its story, from the first buds unfurling, to the promise of leaves that will one day drift gently back to the earth. Together, we spoke of change and of time and growth.
Nearby, other plants are beginning to fade, their once-vibrant green softening as they return to the soil. The children learned how these dying plants do not simply vanish, but become part of something new — breaking down to nourish the roots of the same tree, ready to help it grow again when another spring arrives.
In these small, quiet moments, we see the children beginning to understand nature’s cycle, that in every ending, there is the promise of new life waiting to begin again.

At our Midvale Road Nursery in Paignton, we have had a rumble, a tumble, a bubbling surprise… our Preschool room has been exploring the fiery wonders of volcanoes. 🌋

Inspired by a much-loved story we’ve been sharing together, the children have been diving into the world beneath the earth’s surface — imagining the heat, the pressure, and the moment a volcano can no longer keep still. With wide eyes and excited voices, we talked about what happens during an eruption, from the slow build of bubbling lava to the great burst that spills and flows.
Through play, storytelling, and curious conversation, the children brought the volcano to life — feeling the excitement of the rumble and the wonder of nature’s power.
A story that leapt from the pages and into our learning, sparking imagination, questions, and a love for discovering how our world works.

Practitioners from our Midvale Road Nursery in Paignton attended the South Devon College award night recently. Our wonderful student, Brooke, claimed an award for ‘Most invaluable student and member of the team’.
We could not be more proud of her! Congratulations Brooke!!

At our Midvale Road Nursery in Paignton we have been having such fun this month past learning about our country!
We made a mosaic Big Ben and Union Jack; discussing what rules we would have in our own country and what our flags would looks like, and tasted some of our countries fine dining foods, such as Welsh cakes, pasties and cream teas 😊
