Reception Class have had a great day today visiting Stover Country Park, as part of their learning enquiry! The children have been working hard to answer the question ‘How do minibeasts help us?’🐞🐛🐜

Year 1 had an amazing day at the beach today where they created their outcomes for their current Art Learning Experience🏖️ They have been learning all about sculptures and have been inspired by a range of sculptors and artists to create their own! In groups, they planned their sculpture yesterday, and created it together at the beach today!!☀️ There were some excellent examples of collaboration displayed and the children showed off all of the new knowledge they have gained! ☺️ We then enjoyed some rockpooling this afternoon and finished the day with an ice lolly 🍭

We are so incredibly proud of Millie from Year 2 who has had 13 inches of her hair chopped off over the Easter holidays, which she will be donating to The Little Princess Trust. She has currently raised £710 which is absolutely amazing! If anyone from our school community would like to donate and support the charity, the link is posted below!

KS1 had a great time this morning at our Easter Bonnet Parade!! 🐣🐥 Thank you so much to all our amazing families for joining us and helping the children make such incredible Bonnets. We were especially impressed by the children who created one out of their own hair!! We were also visited by our CEO today who was so impressed by our Easter Bonnets she just had to come and try some on herself ☺️
Year 1 had a fantastic time at Amelia’s Flower Farm on Wednesday which linked to their Science Learning Experience on “How do plants survive and thrive?” 🌺🌳
The children had a wonderful day full of lots of exciting activities. They explored the farm to learn about the different stages of growing plants. They also had the opportunity to do some planting inside one of their polytunnels. The children picked their own flowers from the farm, went on a leaf hunt, created their own perfume potions, decorated a pot to plant some seeds in, and did some observational drawings of flowers! 🌷 🌼

Reception and the rest of Key Stage 1 have been loving their new character champion displays in class! These will be rolled out to all Key Stage 2 classes this week to celebrate the children who are explicitly and consistently showing our character gateways. Well done to Melia in Reception Class who was the first character champion in her class!
This half term we have been focusing on expression across the school working on our confidence and honesty!
