How can long periods of survival mode impact our health?
We often hear about survival mode and how to overcome the impact of what it does to us emotionally and mentally... but do we realize what it can actually do for us physically?
If you have spent a significant portion of your life in a fight-or-flight energy, being hypersensitive to dangers, it will eventually manifest as anxiety, panic attacks, and later down the line, hormonal imbalances and cortisol fluctuations.
But what about our gut? This is where an incredible network of neurotransmers and nerves exist—often known as your "second brain." This is why working with your vagus nerve to settle your nervous system is so incredibly important.
If you're anything like me, born into survival mode and spending the rest of your life navigating fight-or-flight, risk-taking behaviors through friendships, relationships, coping mechanisms, and then entering the "people-pleasing" era... you will find yourself burning your internal candle not just at both ends, but exhausting your life force entirely.
So, where does all that pent-up energy go?
Many of us experience digestive issues as a result. Whether that be intolerances later in life, IBS, or if you're lucky like me, IBS with visceral hypersensitivity. It manifests into feeling like you're having a heart attack after eating an apple... or eating nothing.. sounds like fun eh?
Feom going down the low-FODMAP diet route and removing all triggers, coeliac tests, meditating and yoga.. it can feel utterly exhausting when you're already spending so much time trying to even out cortisol triggers and focusing on prebiotic gut health... to still be experiencing these flare ups!
But when you know you have spent a lifetime skating the edge of the cliff emotionally and mentally... even when now mentally you are handling stressful situations with ease, your gut still notices a stressful environment. It hits the panic button and—hello back to exhaustion, bloatedness, pain, and overall discomfort.
If this sounds at all like you, you can take a few easy steps to reduce the inflammation immediately.
First: Deep breathing.
I know you may think this is just hype, but shallow breathing keeps your nervous system stuck in Defcon 2. Let's take it down a bit and let our bodies know we are safe back into defcon 5.
🌬Inhale for 4 seconds, and exhale for 8 seconds. Do this at least 3 times, getting that air right to the base of your lungs.
Then, make this simple tea.
These ingredients can be found in most supermarkets and health food stores.
🪵Raw licorice root: You can even chew on this like you're a cowboy from the West! It is a powerhouse for coating and protecting a raw stomach lining.
(Note: Skip the licorice if you're pregnant, but for everyone else, it's magic!)
🫚And fresh ginger root: (Which is amazing for morning sickness and everyday nausea! 👌)
Chop them up, brew in a saucepan with water for a few minutes, and then pour into a cup. This helps move along any blockages with ease while calming your gut and bringing you back to normal.
🌱 Fresh peppermint tea can also be a great continuous ally to digestion.
By taking these steps and learning to work with your triggers and stressors, you can take back control of your health. After all, "a stitch in time saves nine."
Don't put your health on the back burner. Eventually, the chickens come home to roost. Take care of you and your gut, and the rest will sort itself out.

With great Power and influence comes great responsibility and with this i truly believe these words and believe i live by them.
It makes it difficult being that person of integrity for not just yourself but family members/ close ones that I hold to a standard, as I hold myself to that same standard. This is where you, if you're a person like me, will find conflict. Because not everyone can stare into the chasm of truth and point out when things are out of alignment. It makes moving on from experiences challenging and you find yourself often re-visiting those experiences over and over in your life until you find the peace and acceptance you've been searching for.
I often talk about journalling and leaning into healing as I share my own healing journey openly.. and i share my journey, to take away the stigma.. and if it creates inclusivity.. for others to not feel so alone in theirs... then my work is done 🙏✨️
To be a spiritual seer does not make me exempt from healing and experiencing life traumas... in fact it's often those experiences that create the seer, you can be born with gifts .. but it's your life experiences that shape the type of seer you become. I am a pretty hard and stubborn learner when it comes to my own healing path. Learning emotional intelligence that was never taught or had a true healthy representation of what it looks like, can feel like your feeling your way in the dark. Running your fingers over rubble and sharp bits of glass with sometimes a small reflection of light to come in to help you realise you are making progress... but it is really an act of faith and trust... which can be especially trying when you have experienced a life where trust was abused and abandoned... So, you create a path to pave the way of the person you wish to be and how you believe you deserve to feel... one small step at a time... moving away from that old toxic communication you may have heard 'why do you always live in the past?'
'Why can't you just let it go?'
'Why do you always have to bring that up!?'
'You're over sensitive'
All quotes of course holding no accountability of actions.. but casting blame to the person who feels. It's an easy get out of responsibility isn't it..?
But no one escapes that responsibility really. It's the thing that wakes the person up in the night, why they feel restless, unsatisfied with life, unable to commit or connect to others for the long term, to be truly personally intimate with another.. it will create addiction in career, food, drugs, alcohol or relationships.. that quick fix.. some may want to run away... that shadow always comes calling when you least expect it... it never rests... it's a creativity blocker! And i have experience in all of these. I was the best runner from my own shadow.. I almost fooled myself that I could carry on my work without shining a light on myself.. but if you want to excel in life.. the closer you get to the light... the more it highlights your shadows...
I love seeing in this era about leaning into that space. Refusing to be the person to pass that old outdated emotional block to our children. It stops here. With us.. to create a new line of emotional liberty... what amazing heights in life you can reach to not be held back by others feelings of limitations and oppression 🙏✨️🙌
Making decisions in every area of your life that you truly want and feel safe to be... what a feeling! Not characterised by others expectation... and only living by your own.... if not now, when? If not you, who?
It may mean cutting off everyone from your past while you do this work..
Love and loyalty to blood and DNA can be layered, but it can also be codependent and harmful, and others experiences can differ from yours and it doesn't mean you're right and they are wrong.. it's just different... it may be that you are the only 'awake' person in your circle.. that's also orchestrated for a reason.. so it's OK to love from a distance whilst you recentre yourself and your care.. after that you can make your decision of how you wish to see the role you play in their lives.... you may surprise yourself and realise that your happy and content to remain a distant loved one.
Over the years I've started journals, never really knowing how to begin, it would be fragmented, often met with drawings, moments of clarity.. but never really full in. All very 2d.. it was a start.. Now at 40... I feel ready.
This is my Book of Shadows.. but not the shadows of witchcraft as one would imagine, my 17 year old self would relish at the thought 🤗⭐️
It's actually more of a book of light ✨️ finally being in a space where you can feel safe enough with your inner child to write your story.. not a triggered mind set... or putting pen to paper in a need to feel seen and heard...but where you can take the hand of your inner child and tell them, it's safe to talk now... what a feeling that already holds...
Healing is a journey... it can be incredibly messy and there is no strait lines. I promise You WILL stumble and fall over numerous of times. You WILL feel the fool, you WILL feel exhausted, manipulated and confused.. and utterly lost for the most part... but.. in time... what you wouldn't expect to notice... it's the quiet that tiptoes into your life... quiet in your mind, lightness in your chest. No tight knots in your tummy. Feeling softness in your spine... it begins there... then you notice time, finding time that is finding you.. in stillness. Not wanting outside noise. Being totally content with just being in the moment.
That is what it is all worth... it may take time to find your people... and that's all orchestrated too... it is a gift 🙏

Thought i would share the Bread Recipe that I made that is protein enriched without flour or yeast ( some of my Sunday Members got to hear about it in their group reading, so here is what it looks like :)
To make
* Rolled Oats (i used ready brek for finer oats 😁
* h**p seeds, pumpkin seeds and flax seeds for my protein and nutrients in omega oils.
* Greek yoghurt
* 3 eggs
* half tea spoon on baking powder
* and some rosemary to taste.
I added olives to mine aswell as I thought why not.
No specific measurements I just went with what felt right.
It'll be like a thick porridge consistency when you pop it in your baking tray (lined with grease proof paper) i cooked for about 40 minutes. (Pop knife in midge, if it comes out wet, it's not done).
And it came out like a meatloaf kind of consistency.. but i like it as it's helping me with upping my protein and keeping fuller for longer and no insulin spikes.
If you want it more bread like, only use 2 eggs.
I slice it up and pop it in the toaster. I keep it in the fridge to keep fresh.
Today I'm having it for my Protein breakfast boiled eggs, avocado and tomatoes.

The view at the back of my house the last few days has felt like we're living on the set of 'The others'... or waiting for the pirates to hurry up and take their gold and treasure back already!.. it has been rather gloomy hasn't it!?
Not just here.. but In the world 🌎...
How do we change it? How do we raise it up?... by dancing... even if it feels like you're dancing on foundations that are falling down around you... dance 💃.. don't buy into fear, apathy or dread.. play your favourite music.. call in that sun into your life.. a new dawn is coming.. ✨️🌞🌻

✨️Roxys Macaroon Rum Swirl✨️
Very impressed with my little Healthy version of a minced pie/Almond roulade (No added sugar, No Fat).
We had some Rum soaked raisins and dried fruit left over from Christmas and Win had fancy for Mince pies.. as I'm on a promise to myself to make healthy routines and choices and I believe we can eat well without feeling like I'm compromising on flavour...
So I exchanged the pastry with
Desicated coconut
Original ready brek (as the flour)
Ripened banana for the sweetness and moisture
And one egg (mix together until all binds to a thick porridge consistency.
I added pecans and Rose water for flavour and crunch.
Spread over more dried coconut on to grease proof paper and spoon the porridge mix onto the paper fold over with paper and spread it out.
Spoon raisins or whatever filling you like and roll over
I added a little extra coconut and a little whisked egg drizzled on the top.. this creates golden brown crunch
Pop onto a baking tray and cook for 25/30 mins..
And voila... Uncompromised 🥳Roxys Macaroon Rum Swirl ❤️✨️
