Swimming:
Ten children from Upper Key Stage Two represented Hayes School last week at the swimming gala run by Paignton Academy, where they competed against 6 other schools in the bay. We are so proud of their efforts, their support of each other and their impeccable behaviour throughout the event: they were a real credit to the school!
DT:
Komodo Dragons really enjoyed researching, planning and building Anderson Shelters. We had some very innovative designs as well as some authentic models.

Year 5 had a fantastic time sculpting dragon eyes from clay! The children used a variety of brilliant techniques to manipulate the clay, shaping it into some truly amazing creations. They worked incredibly hard throughout the project, demonstrating our key school values of discovery and resilience to achieve wonderful success. We are so proud of their beautiful artwork!

Our next plant sale is happening this Thursday from 3.15pm at the polytunnel!
There’ll be lots of great plants at bargain prices, and every penny raised goes directly back into supporting our school.
Everyone is welcome, you do not need to be part of the school community to come along, so please feel free to bring friends, family and neighbours too.
We look forward to seeing you there!

🪴The Reception children are having a wonderful time working in their garden. They have been very busy harvesting garlic and washing the plants, planting strawberry plants, weeding and watering.
They have also come across various mini beasts as they worked - worms, spiders, ladybirds and woodlice which has helped to embed the learning we have been doing about creatures and their habitats. A garden full of awe and wonder! 🪴

A huge thank you to everyone who came along and supported our plant sale last week.
It was lovely to see so many families stopping by the polytunnel, enjoying the children’s hard work and helping raise money for our school. Thanks to your support, we raised just over £300 across the two days, which is fantastic.
We’re pleased to be holding another plant sale this Thursday and Friday from 3.15pm, so if you missed out last week, or just fancy adding a few more plants to your garden, we’d love to see you there.
All proceeds go back into supporting our school.

The Nursery children engage so well with the outdoor sessions in the woods. They love to climb the mud banks, make pies and cakes in the mud kitchen, hunt for mini beasts and explore the sounds around them.
We love listening for birds, then identify the bird song using our Merlin Bird app.
Super teamwork and sharing.
