In line with Benedict’s Law, we are pleased to share that Discoveries Montessori Nursery School is now equipped with EpiPens.

This is another important step in our commitment to the safety and wellbeing of every child in our care; ensuring that we are able to respond quickly in the event of a severe allergic reaction.

The children’s safety, wellbeing and happiness will always be at the heart of what we do.

Life Vac Announcement

We are delighted to share that Discoveries Montessori Nursery School is now the owner of an official LifeVac anti choking device purchased through the Oliver Steeper Foundation.

The LifeVac is an additional safety resource designed to help in a choking emergency. It provides the team with another tool to support the children in our care.

Keeping all the children safe is our highest priority and we are grateful to the Oliver Steeper Foundation for helping us to take this important step towards enhanced emergency preparedness.

Exciting!

Some gorgeous new wooden activities have arrived!

These will combine fine motor skills, eye band coordination, language, colours, matching, maths, patterns, shapes and working with 2 dimensions to 3 dimensions!

🌞 It may be summer, but the learning and development never stops!

This week has included more online training, as well as a valuable Teams medical training session with a Paediatric Specialist Nurse.

Keeping our knowledge and skills up to date is so important, helping us to ensure that all the children in our care remain safe, happy and healthy. 💙

We’re always learning, growing and doing everything we can to provide the best possible care for the children and young people we support. 🌟

Summer is here ☀️ and with longer days, holidays and lots to juggle, it's completely understandable that screens can become a helpful part of family life.

Whether it's while you're making dinner, catching up on jobs, or simply taking a moment to breathe, we've all been there!

The key isn't aiming for no screen time, it's about finding a healthy balance.

Alongside screen time, try to make space for outdoor adventures, imaginative play, reading, family games and simply enjoying time together.

Remember, every family is different and there will be days when screens get used more than others. That's ok! Small, positive choices over time make the biggest difference.

🌟 Change of date! 🌟

Summer is here and I just wanted to let you know there is a change of date.

We will be returning on Wednesday 2nd September 2026.

The 1st September will be a team meeting, final preparations day!

I will update the website but for now have a fabulous summer and if you’re going away, safe travels!

It has been an absolute privilege to watch your children grow, learn and flourish during their time at nursery. We are so grateful that you trusted us to be part of their early years, and we will cherish the memories we've made together.

As your little ones begin their next exciting adventure, we wish them every happiness and success. Thank you for your support, kindness and for sharing your amazing children with us.

Here we go….

Today marks the end of one beautiful chapter and the beginning of another. These wonderful children arrived at nursery with tiny hands, curious minds, and hearts full of wonder. Since then, they have grown in countless ways—learning to share, to laugh, to be kind, to persevere, and to believe in themselves.

Every painting, every story, every new friendship, and every proud "I did it!" has been a stepping stone on their journey. They have filled our days with imagination, joy, and endless smiles, reminding us that the smallest moments often become the most treasured memories.

As they graduate from Discoveries, they carry with them not only new skills but also confidence, courage, and a love of learning that will guide them wherever they go. Though they may be taking little steps into a much bigger world, those steps are filled with promise.

To our amazing graduates: keep asking questions, keep dreaming big, keep being kind, and never lose the sparkle that makes each of you so wonderfully unique. We are incredibly proud of you and grateful to have been part of your first adventures in learning.

Congratulations, little graduates. Your future is bright, your possibilities are endless, and the very best is yet to come.
