Little Foundations Ofsted Registered Childminder in Hurst Green, Surrey Little Foundations opened in July 2010. During this time I worked part time as a nanny for 2 families.

Registering as childminder was a natural career progression for me (Samantha). I studied the Care of Early Years in 2002 through the University of Greenwich. After achieving my HND I went on to work in a day nursery and then to nanny for a lovely family seeing them grow up through nursery, school and into secondary school and a fourth sibling! Childminding now enables me to work from home with my 2 children as well as continuing with the career I have worked hard to be in - childcare.

Wow!

The reopening of Lingfield Fire Station is going to be an event for everyone and we are just under 10 days away so mark your calendars! 🚒 🔥

We have an ice cream truck, fire engines, a raffle and free tea, coffee & cakes - what more could you want during the summer holidays?!

Please note that there is no parking on site and some of the stalls will have an additional cost. All proceeds will go to the Fire Fighters Charity and the wonderful work they do.

We started this lovely trail based on “we’re going on a bear hunt” - we will do the other part in another trip. I often find it handy to give children a reason to walk… finding things makes it more fun and to be honest… I enjoy it too. I particularly liked this first one and the pirate one. Brilliant aren’t they?! What are your tips for getting children to walk?

Children remember how adults made them feel long after they forget what they were praised for.

The difference between saying "Well done!" and recognising a child's effort, kindness, determination or courage can shape their confidence, resilience and willingness to keep trying.

The words we choose become the voice children use to talk to themselves.

Imagine if every child grew up hearing praise that helped them believe:

"I can learn."
"Mistakes help me grow."
"I do not have to be perfect to be valued."

Sometimes a small change in our words can have a lifelong impact on a child's future.
