We are a small, intimate nursery in the heart of Old Oxted providing care for children aged 10 months to school age. We are a small and very friendly, professional team of highly qualified teachers in early years. At Hopscotch Nursery School we have adopted a blend of, what we feel, are the best of the pedagogical approaches to Early Years. Our environment and teaching and learning style is inspir
ed by approaches such as the Montessori Philosophy which emphasises the individuality of each child. We also draw inspiration from Anna Ephgrave with "learning in the moment" and in Forest School. We believe that children learn best in their own way at their own pace. The driving concept is the nurturing of the child's natural joy of learning. Our main aim is to provide a happy, stimulating child orientated environment in which the children can explore and learn freely. We believe that when children feel emotionally secure and have a strong sense of belonging they are able to flourish developmentally.
