The Little Pea Pod Nursery is an organic nursery in central Oxted, Surrey. We are open full time from 7.30am – 6:30pm, Monday to Friday, 50 weeks of the year. We are looking for someone for Monday to Thursday - 9am to 5.30pm
We encourage all aspects of development from social to physical. We provide a loving and nurturing home-from-home experience for all our children at our nursery. Most importantly, we celebrate every child’s individuality to build confidence, creativity, and independence through their early years learning.
We are expanding and this gives an opportunity to have a real input into the development of the care we provide. All staff are encouraged to develop their qualifications and skills within a friendly and supportive team.
As part of our Apprenticeship programme we work in conjunction with leading training providers, to offer you the opportunity to complete a Level 2 qualification in Childcare with scope to continue on to Level 3.
We are pleased to offer above the National Minimum Apprentice Wage as well as offering other benefits. You will gain experience in all areas of day-to-day nursery life and embrace a sound knowledge of current good childcare practices, to start a fulfilling career.
You will have the opportunity to work alongside qualified staff across all areas of the nursery age range of 3 months-5 years, to develop your practical skills in caring for young children under the overall guidance of the Nursery Manager and a mentor within the setting.
Your responsibilities will include supporting children in play and learning activities, everyday care routines such as meal and sleep times, enhancing the environment with displays of children's work, observing and record keeping of children's development and planning to meet their individual needs supported by establishing positive relationships with parents and careers.
The ideal candidate will be able to use their own initiative and be passionate about working with children. Initially the role is for 4 days per week
Qualifications, Experience and Qualities
· Excellent references and a clear enhanced DBS
· Passion about working with children and learning
· Exceptional communication skills, energy and a positive ‘hands on’ attitude
· Friendly and approachable with a sense of humour
· Creative and willing to learn new skills
