What is the biggest surprise about running Baby College?
Ruby looked at a lot of franchises before choosing Baby College.
She knew she would love the classes. She knew she believed in the science.
What she did not expect was the community.
The parents who show up every week. Who support each other. Who cheer each other on. And who cheer Ruby on too.
That is Baby College. And it is hard to put a price on it.

Did you know? In 2022, the CDC updated its developmental milestone guidelines for the first time in decades. They moved the walking milestone from 12 months to 15 months, and removed crawling as a required milestone altogether. Not because standards are falling — but because the old figures did not reflect the real range of normal. Development is a wide road. 🛤️
At Baby College, play is not just fun. It is how babies explore the world. Movement is how they build their brain. And learning happens in every single moment of every single class.

Baby College on BBC Breakfast this morning…
What are your thoughts on the smacking debate?
“Definitely think there should be a ban, couldn’t believe there wasn’t one to be honest. The evidence from child development research is clear. That children need warmth, they need play, they need responsive relationships in order to thrive. Definitely not violence!”Amy Woods, Baby College Salford, BBC Breakfast June 11th 2026 Baby College Salford

Nobody said parenting was easy. But if you are going to put in the hard work, it is nice to know you are doing the right things. And it really helps to do it with people who get it.
Baby College is a community. A room full of people at the same stage, sharing the same experiences, supporting each other through the early months and years. Friendships that start on a play mat and last a lifetime.
Come and find your people.

Today is World Franchise Day 🎉 and it feels like a good moment to talk about something I genuinely believe in.
Starting a business on your own is hard. Starting one with a proven system, a support network, and a brand people already trust? That’s a different story.
Our franchisees run their own Baby College businesses, set their own hours, and build something that’s really theirs. But they’re never doing it alone. There’s training, ongoing support, and a whole community of people who’ve been where they are.
If you’ve ever thought about working for yourself but the idea of going it completely alone felt a bit daunting, this might be worth a look 🙂
What does your ideal working week look like? Drop it in the comments. I’d love to hear.

Baby College is not all about the gram.
Nobody ever looks back and says "I wish I had more photos of my baby dressed as a frog."
What parents do look back on is knowing they were present, informed, and doing the right things at the right time. That they understood their baby. That they made the most of those early months, not just for the photos, but for the development, the connection, and the confidence it built in both of them.
That is what Baby College is for.
We want you to look back in ten years and feel proud of the effort you put in. Confident that you gave your baby the best possible start. And certain that those sessions on the play mat mattered far more than any costume ever could.

New blog post today. Those ages on the milestone charts? They are median ages. That means half of all babies reach them later — and that is completely normal. Read today's post to find out what milestone ages actually tell you, why the guidelines were recently updated, and what genuinely helps development at home. Read it at babycollege.co.uk/blog
