Yesterday we celebrated Play Day!

What a fantastic day of fun, exploration and learning through play across the nursery!

Our Scholars embraced lots of exciting risky play opportunities, building confidence, resilience and problem-solving skills.

Our Sophomores continued to follow their current interests in caterpillars and butterflies, taking part in a range of child-led experiences inspired by their own curiosity.

Our Freshers 1 children had a wonderful time getting creative with junk modelling, using their imagination to transform everyday materials into amazing creations.

Our Freshers 2 children loved working together to build dens, exploring teamwork, communication and imaginative play.

It has been wonderful to see every room celebrating the importance of play and providing opportunities for children to learn, explore and thrive in their own unique ways.

Our Sophomores have been fascinated by caterpillars!

The children have been spotting caterpillars in our sand garden, observing them closely and sharing their excitement and curiosity with their friends and carers.

Our carers have then been following the children’s interests and extending their learning by creating a range of exciting learning opportunities around caterpillars!

From exploring how caterpillars grow and change, to creative activities , stories , songs and opportunities to observe and talk about what they have discovered!

Welcome to our Scholars Puppet show!

Our Scholars Butterflies have been getting creative with Helicopter stories!

The children had the opportunity to use their imagination to create their very own stories, sharing their ideas while their carer wrote their words exactly as they told them.

Bu the fun did not stop there! The children then brought their stories to life by designing and creating their own puppets, ready for their very own puppet show.

They proudly performed their stories to their friends and carers, building confidence , developing their communication and language skills, and expressing their creativity through storytelling and role play!

Our Summertown setting children have enjoyed exploring our Land, Air and Water topic over the past few weeks!

Throughout this exciting learning they have investigated different environments through a variety of hands on activities developing their curiosity, creativity and understanding the world around them!

Linking to this topic we have also celebrated International Mud Day! The children embraced the opportunity to explore, create, splash and get wonderfully muddy, building their confidence, imagination and sensory skills though play!
