With the hot weather expected for the rest of the week we will continue the arrangements of children in school in the mornings on Thursday and Friday. Children can be picked up at 1.10pm when the gates will be open. If you need your child/children to stay in school for the afternoon or after school club please let the school office know. The celebration assembly, on Friday, will be at 8.50am and the new Reception children will visit as planned. Children are also welcome to wear sandals or croc style shoes this week as long as they have a back strap.

HOT WEATHER INFORMATION

With the extreme heat due to continue tomorrow and Thursday, we are offering flexible pickup options for the afternoon:

Early Collection: School will remain open, but you are welcome to collect your child at 1:10 PM if you feel it is best for their comfort and well-being.

Normal Hours: Children are equally welcome to stay for the full afternoon as usual and after school club if they need it.

Uniform Reminder: Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their school PE kit to stay cool. Please note that football shirts or other casual sportswear are not permitted.

Don't forget to send them with a refillable water bottle, a sun hat, and pre-applied sun cream.

Over the next three days (Tuesday 23rd, Wednesday 24th and Thursday 25th June) the school will be closing early due to the extreme heat and the impact it is having on the safety and wellbeing of pupils and staff.
On these early closing days the school gates will be unlocked at 1.10 pm, so children need to be collected at this time from the playground. Anyone not collected at 1.10pm will need to be collected at 3/3.10pm or from the after school club.
If you have booked our after school club on any of these days and no longer require it, please email the school office who will cancel the booking for you.
If you are a key worker or you need your child to be in school, please email the school office ([email protected]) by 9am tomorrow morning (Tuesday 23rd June). We will provide supervised, low-energy care in our coolest spaces from 1:05 pm until the end of the normal school day.

As “Miss teen Oxford” 2026 I’m starting a summer dance program for children aged 5-10. This will be every Sunday for £3.50 pay via door or donate to link online. This fundraiser is specially selected to support our local children’s hospice: Helen & Douglas House. We have added a new INSET day to next year's academic calendar. Tuesday 5th January will also be an INSET day as well as Monday 4th January 2027.
