Dear All,
Happy Friday!
This week our topics were 2D and 3D shapes, primary and secondary colours and numbers.
Following on from last week we continued to explore icing sugar but added spots of water and food colouring to observe colour changes happening. We named the colours in the pots as well as what colours we made. We printed with shape cutters and paint, used shape stencils and letter shapes in our mark making area, made shape sticker pictures and made different shapes with our hands and fingers.
On the play dough table we created shapes by rolling out the play dough and pressing shape cutters into the dough.
We continued to role play being at School in the home corner, wearing the School inform while we coloured and shape sorted. Outside we constructed with mobilo, coloured flower clips, created different sand shapes with the moulds and threaded beads onto string.
We have continued to visit the nature area and carried out sports day practice.
The book of the week was the ‘Perfect Fit.’
Have a great weekend, enjoy the photos and sunshine.

Dear All,
Happy Friday!
This week our topic is our teeth, alongside healthy eating.
We have been using the mega blocks as teeth, using tooth brushes and wool to clean them in the mud, cleaning dinosaur teeth in the dinosaur land. We have enjoyed washing the babies in the water tray and caring for them once washed by dressing them and placing them in chairs. We have been using spades and sand modules in the sand to create body shapes, looking at healthy and unhealthy foods, food groups and how much sugar are in some foods. We have shared how we look after our teeth, how many times we should brush them and what it is like to visit the dentist. We have found out what our body does with the food that we eat, made playdough and had a go at making our mouths and teeth. We have continued to mark make on paper plates and drawing around action stencils, explored icing sugar and water through play, as well as continuing our sport day practice, walks around the community and visits to the nature area.
Our book of the week was ‘The run away pea.’
Enjoy the photos and have a good weekend.

Dear All,
Happy Friday!
This week our topic was our body.
We have shared some amazing facts about our bodies through play and practical activities, like how our lungs work, what our body does with the food we eat and how many bones we have in parts of our body, for example hands and feet.
We have made our faces on cards with loose parts as we looked in mirrors and drew our self portraits, we have drawn around our bodies, coloured it in and labelled our body parts. We enjoyed constructing body puzzles, mark making on paper plates, drew around action stencils, placed bean bags on different parts of our body and learned new parts of our body like ankle, hips and elbows through songs. We enjoyed building with the potato heads, explored the water and mud with plates, cups and utensils, visited the nature area, we went on lots of walks around the community and continued our sports day practice, which we have all loved.
Our book of the week is ‘Our body.’
It would be great to see you at The Hub Cream Tea tomorrow from 2pm until 5pm.
Enjoy the photos and have a good week.

Dear All,
Happy Friday!
This week our topic was Bees and insects.
We made playdough and used natural resources to make them into insects. We explored insects in the mud and gloop, made flower gardens for our Bees, found out facts about Bees, for example they have six legs, they live in a hive, there is only one Queen Bee and how the worker Bee goes around collecting pollen and nectar and how Bees make Honey for us.
We have also been working hard to complete all our laps on the bikes and Scooters for our sponsored bike ride.
We have been down in the Nature area enjoyed looking for insects, making Bee water stations and building a bug house in a tree.
Our book of the week was “The life cycle of a Bee.”
Enjoy the photos, have a wonderful half term break and enjoy the sunshine that is ahead.
We will look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 1st June 2026.
