New academic year, a new cohort of Ertegun Scholars! This afternoon a small group were exploring major Oxford landmarks, with an accredited and knowledgeable local guide, Elizabeth Hudson-Evans, and Ertegun Director, Professor Jonathan Cross. Tea and cake welcomed the group back at Ertegun House after the tour, along with a number of older Scholars.

Akshaj has just completed his first year of an MPhil in Islamic Art & Architecture.

Thoroughly enjoyable and intellectually stimulating presentation and discussion at yesterday's Trinity term Ertegun Futures . Professor Jennifer Walshe treated the audience of Ertegun Scholars and public to several samples of AI-generated music and spoke about the various aspects and challenges of using AI to create music. Ertegun scholars and alumni gathered around the haft-sin table to celebrate the Persian New Year with Persian food and sweets. Marking the spring equinox, Nowruz has been an annual festival in ancient Iran with its roots in Zoroastrianism. The Ertegun haft-sin featured the seven key items (and more), all symbolic of renewal and rebirth. Seti @setaayeshd, our resident Iranian, shared her joy at being able to celebrate this major Iranian festival during all the years she has been at Ertegun House. Sal-e no mobarak! Happy Nowruz!
