Well done to everyone who took part in the Eco Club's clothes swap yesterday. What a fantastic initiative to combat the environmental impact of the fashion industry. 👏

It was so successful that plans are already underway to hold another next term. So when you have that post-Christmas clear out, don't forget to put aside any clothes and accessories that might have a second life with a new owner. 👗👕👚👜


Nord Anglia Education Muddy Stilettos Red Kite Days

Today is Buy Nothing Day founded in 1992 by a Canadian artist as a pushback against Black Friday and the global problem of overconsumption.

The d'Overbroeck's Eco Club have an alternative solution to the problem of waste in the textiles industry, and next Thursday will be their clothes swap event. 👕👔👗👜

Students have been donating all their clothes and accessories they no longer wear, which will hopefully be given a new lease of life.

"For me, the best part about being in the Sixth Form is having a Director of Studies. The first couple of weeks can be very stressful, as you have to settle in, get to know your teachers and overcome the gap between GCSEs and A-levels. "I have really enjoyed spending my time in the Arts Centre as my teachers have helped me to explore things in a different way and taught me new techniques and skills that I had never tried before. I have especially enjoyed Textiles as we have been taught how to make screen prints, use the heat press and many more skills that would help us in our future pieces or garments." 🤗
