We’re delighted to have opened the doors to our new café at Univ North this morning!

Open to all students and their guests, as well as staff working on site, the café is a welcoming spot to grab breakfast, lunch, a coffee or a treat during the day.

Monday to Friday | 8.30am–4pm

Start the morning with fresh coffee, pastries, breakfast rolls and granola. At lunchtime, enjoy freshly made baguettes and paninis, with hot and cold drinks, muffins, cookies and plenty of other treats available throughout the day. 🤤

On 26 September, Univ’s Old Members who matriculated between 2017 and 2020 were invited back to College for their Gaudy. It was amazing to see them all together again. 💛

During a recent trip to the US, Baroness Valerie Amos (Master of Univ), Felice Nassar (Director of Development, Univ) and Harriet Bayly (Deputy Director of Development, Univ), visited Astra in California.

They were hosted by Univ alumnus Dr Alan Weston (1975, Engineering), Head of Launch Program at Astra and Katie Clark, Head of Communications and Senior Creative Director, Astra. The visit was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with a member of the Univ community and learn more about Alan’s work at Astra.

University College has appointed Professor Adam Smith as its new Vice-Master. Professor Smith, a Professorial Fellow of University College, succeeds Professor Peter Jezzard PhD FInstP CPhys, who has served as Vice-Master since 2018.

With support from University College’s medical elective fund and the British Hip Society, Dr Kate Murnane (2018, Medical Sciences) spent eight weeks at the Children’s Surgical Centre in Phnom Penh, Cambodia, during the final year of her graduate-entry medical degree.

The experience reaffirmed her ambition to pursue humanitarian surgery, with a focus on sustainable capacity building and community-centred care.

We are delighted to announce the opening of Kids Planet Garden House Nursery, a new purpose-built early years setting that will provide high-quality childcare for College and University staff, students and researchers.

Located at 96 Woodstock Road in north Oxford, Garden House Nursery is a major community-facing element of Univ North, University College’s largest physical expansion in more than 300 years.

The transformational Univ North development is creating new student accommodation, study and social spaces, landscaped gardens, a café, and facilities designed to support the College student and academic community.
