Today our Market Monitors headed out to the market to choose a selection of fruits and veg 🌈
We picked fruits and veg the children may not have seen in their whole form before, learning where they come from, how they grow, and what they look like before they reach our plates.
The children absolutely loved it – and we all learned so much 🌽

GINGERBREAD MAYHEM AT ROOTS TODAY!

Our little designers gave their gingerbread men full-on festive makeovers, sparkles, swirls and buttons 🍬
Each one ended up totally unique, absolutely adorable, and very proud of its new look! 😍

🥟 Samoosa Day at Roots! 🥟
Today was next-level exciting at nursery… we turned into tiny chefs! 👩‍🍳👨‍🍳

A HUGE thank you to Anam for coming in and showing the children the magic behind the perfect samoosa fold , who knew it was basically origami you can eat?! 😂

The children had full hands-on experience:
✨ scooping
✨ folding
✨ brushing

They absolutely LOVED learning how samosas are made, and even more so… eating them afterwards! They were delicious and the little faces said it all. 🤤🥰

It was fun and educational, something totally different exactly what we love at Roots! 🌈😍

We have some really, REALLY exciting news to share… 🎉

We’ve just submitted a planning application to grow Roots next year! 🌿✨ Our goal? To start welcoming 1-year-olds and more 2-year-olds, because the demand is huge, and we truly hate having to turn families away. 💛

Looking back to when we started in the Girl Guides Hut with just 13 children… and now, wow, we’re at 95 children on roll! 🤩 This next step feels BIG, and we are so excited to keep reaching for the sky. 🚀

We’d love you to cross your fingers and thumbs for us 🤞🤞 and, if you’re into the planning world, please support our application when it goes live on the portal. Your encouragement means the world to us! 🌎💫

#☁️🌈 MAKE IT RAIN! 🌧️💦We had a blast this morning with a fun and simple science experiment that shows how rain forms in clouds! 🧪☁️We filled a jar with water 💧 to represent the atmosphere, added fluffy shaving foam 🧴 on top as our clouds, and dropped in food colouring 🎨 to act like tiny water droplets! As the “clouds” got heavier and heavier, the colour began to fall — just like real rainfall! ☔️🌧️Such an easy and exciting way to see how weather works! 🌦️The kids LOVED it — and honestly, so did we! 🙌💙Perfect for any curious minds learning about weather this week! 🧠🌍Science is cool — and sometimes a little messy! 😉

Our chicken journey has begun! 🐥
Today we had a very special visitor—Fluffy the chicken came to meet the children and help us learn all about the life cycle of a chicken. 🥚🐣

The excitement doesn’t stop there… starting Monday, we’ll be getting our own eggs to incubate! Over the next few weeks, we’ll watch them hatch and grow right here at Roots.

This is such a wonderful opportunity for the children to learn, explore, and care for living things—and honestly, we’re just as excited as they are!

We can’t wait to share this journey with you—so keep an eye out for updates, photos, and plenty of fluffy moments.
