Lizzie is very bubbly, very funny and will talk to anyone, she’s a perfect example and role model for our society! 🩷💙

As a countryside girly Lizzie is used to be around animals so controlling the watersports members on a Wednesday night will be no problem for her.💪🏼

As a pro game keeper, Lizzie’s aim is great so make sure you stay in line.🎯 Lizzie also has a real talent for getting membership numbers as Toby Manning has experienced.. so make sure you buy your membership ASAP!

We’re so excited to have Lizzie looking after our society this year, we can’t wait for September! 📚

Caitlin caitlin !! Our Vice President! 👏🏼

Caitlin is giving up her previous social sec title to become VP! 🤩 She’ll be taking a step back from planning our socials and making us do crazy stuff, to make sure things are running smoothly behind the scenes.

Caitlin has the blessing of NEVER having hangovers, you’ll catch her in fish pretty much every single week but will still make all of her 9 ams(we’re all very jealous)! 📚

Keep an eye out for all the exciting trips and lovely stash she has prepped and planned for us all. We’re so happy that Caitlin is part of our committee again this year! 💗

Jorja! Jorja . Our wonderful Finance Secretary 🤓💸

Lifeguard by day, Finance Secretary by night. Our finance sec this year not only knows how to save your life in the water, but also how to save the pennies in your pocket 💰. She’ll be keeping our budget in check, making sure we can finance all our trips.

As a business girly 📈, Jorja knows exactly what it takes to make a successful society… so watch out watersports, because we’re coming for the big leagues 🌊.

But don’t let the serious finance title fool you… get a drink in this girl and she’ll be up and dancing like a Dancing Queen 💃. One minute she’s balancing the books, the next she’s on the dance floor.

We’re very excited to have Jorja keeping our finances afloat this year. 🛟💸🌊

Armada Week 2026 armada week
Another amazing week sailing around the coast of Athens. Thanks to everyone who joined us we had a ball🌊⛵️🇬🇷

SURF TRIP UPDATE🌊🏄
Due to the crossover with the ski trip and the proximity to the second semester, we are moving the trip to early Easter holidays (1st-8th April). The moving of the dates allows us to go on this trip and still have 10 days left of holiday when we get back!
For those needing a refresher of what the trip consist of:
For one week from the we will be staying in Corralejo, a town in the north of the island in the ‘planet surf camp’ surf house which has amazing reviews for their hospitality, layout (with a pool) and proximity to the beach and town
The hostel provides breakfast and dinner everyday aswell as surf lessons, wetsuits, surfboards and transport to the surrounding beaches and the airport! For the most part of the trip, we will be either surfing, or relaxing on the beach at some of the beach bars that are scattered across the beaches, however we will also be having a few days off where we take boat rides to smaller islands to explore them and snorkel in the turquoise water that surrounds them (search up lobos island to get an idea)
In terms of nightlife there’s a large amount to choose from, and we plan to go to a different beach bar and club every night (which is obviously optional)!
You don’t need any experience of watersports at all to come on this trip, you don’t even have to surf, you can just treat it as a get away (and it would still be a very good deal!)
However if you want to surf seriously we’ve got very experienced instructors that will take people of any surf level and teach you to improve!

JANUARY TRIP SOCIAL🏄‍♀️🌊

This social will be to give you guys a full breakdown of the entire January trip, give you all itineraries of day to day activities, giving you advice on what to pack, help you find the best flights and show you more of the accommodation we will be staying at.

Anyone who thinks they might be interested in the trip, this is your chance to ask questions and learn some more about what we will be getting up to
Freshers we want to see some of you there aswell

This month OBWS will be fundraising in support of movember.

Since 2003 movember has funded more than 1,250 men’s mental health projects around the world 🌎

Calling all surfers 📣!
We’ve got our January surf trip all ready to go and it’s going to be a BIG ONE!

Oxford Brookes Watersports will be taking on FUERTAVENTURA 🏝️(canary islands)

We’re staying at a really cool Surf House just a few minutes walk from the beach in a small but bustling town called Corralejo right at the north of the island (where the best waves are). As well as surfing we’ll be visiting a new beach bar each night and if you would like, take a speed boat excursion to the small surrounding islands where you can snorkel and sight see!
Corralejo has a surprisingly lively nightlife for a small town, so for those that can’t leave the nightlife behind, don’t worry you’ll be more than satisfied!

If one day you want to do something different while out there, the island has amazing sand dunes and many companies offer dune buggy hire, so you can spend the day shredding the dunes while surfers shred the waves!

This trip is completely BEGINNER Friendly, however there’s also transport to more challenging beaches with bigger more challenging waves for the more experienced!

Aswell as accommodation, you’re getting:
- 5 days of surf lessons
- breakfast and dinner
- transport to the airport
- All surf hire equipment
