This photo of children in the playground gives a wonderful view of the Old Hall and its distinctive weathervane. We're not sure of the date, but it would be somewhere between the 1920s and 1940s!

It's very rare that we have a photo in the Archive that we know practically nothing about. The photo shows the boys working in the hall on what appears to be a Science project.

Our Archivist predicts that it dates from the first half of the twentieth century...what do you think?

This week we’re stepping back in time to the Lodge, a building many of us walk past or work in every day, but which once had a very different role in school life. Built in 1895, the Lodge housed two wards for infectious illnesses, complete with nurses’ rooms, offering separation and support at times when outbreaks were a serious concern. Alongside this, there were rooms for a resident master, and living accommodation for Mr and Mrs Cox, the school caretakers, who were at the heart of daily life on site.

A proud moment for the Dragon community as Maia Bouchier (OD 2012) made history this week by opening the batting for England in the first-ever women's Test match to be played at the historic Lord's Cricket Ground!🏏

Seeing an Old Dragon take her place on one of the sport's biggest stages will undoubtedly inspire many young Dragons to dream big and *reach for that sun*, just as Maia continues to do, breaking new ground and representing the very best of the Dragon spirit.

Congratulations, Maia! History made!🏏💙

Here's a wonderfully intriguing photograph of a group of boys on a train.

'Unfortunately, I do not have any details about it, but it would be lovely to discover whether anyone recognises where it was taken or where they might have been travelling to.' - Catherine Lewis - Archivist🐉
