The College political stakes have been raised higher than ever with the launch of the 2033/23 Student Council Election campaigns.
Multiple candidates with strong manifestos are promising to deliver on a range of issues: amplifying the student voice, creating new clubs (including Cat Club!), campaigning for more services and evolving the college community.
Our Student Council plays an active and important role within the college, organising social events and fundraisers, promoting important causes and meeting regularly with the College leadership team to enact change. Being a member looks great on your UCAS application, too!

We're delighted to share with you some of our wonderful student successes, following A-Level results day yesterday, starting with Andrew!
Andrew joined us in September 2020 after he won the Oxford Sixth Form College Olympiad in Vietnam. He has been an outstanding student and a great advocate for the College during his time with us.
After studying Business, Economics and Maths we are delighted to see him come away with A*A*A* and a place at Bristol to study International Business Management.
Congratulations, Andrew!

Huge congratulations to all our students receiving their A-Level and BTEC results today!
We have seen students gaining entry to top Russell Group universities including Oxford, King's College London, Glasgow, Bristol, Queen Mary, Exeter, Newcastle and more!
We're immensely proud of all of you and we hope you got the results you were hoping for!
If things haven't quite worked out the way you wanted, give us a call or drop us a line - we're here to help in any way we can.
And that's a wrap on this academic year - here's a selection of some of the highlights!
Sad to see our graduating Class of 2022 leave, it's been a pleasure to know you and we wish you all the very best for the future, and of course for your results in August!
To all those returning next year, have a fantastic summer and we'll see you in September!

To support their studies on the Industrial Revolution, some of our A-Level History students went on a trip to the Black Country Living Museum in the West Midlands, a 26-acre, open-air representation of life in one of the first industrialised landscapes in Britain.

Ukraine Crisis Fundraising Events
Our BTEC students recently held a series of events to raise money for the crisis in Ukraine, as well as grow their business, marketing and event management skills.
They created posters and sent out emails to advertise their events and organised everything to ensure that the students and staff they invited had a great time.
In total, they raised £79 for the Ukraine Crisis Appeal. Well done, everyone!

Congratulations to Emily who has firmed an offer from the University of the Arts London to study Foundation in Animation. She also has several others including an Unconditional offer to study Animation from Norwich University of the Arts. A fantastic achievement.
Emily joined us in September 2020 to study Art, History of Art and Textiles. She would recommend us for "the small class sizes, wide variety of subjects and friendly staff and students."
"This college helped me to build my confidence and discover new skills".

A selection of photos from last week's Leavers' Ball. Everyone looked fabulous and it was a great night with really good music and good food.
Thanks to Cherwell Boathouse for the food and venue and kudos to the Student Council for putting on such a great event!

It should come as no surprise that our teachers really like their subject. In fact, some speak with such infectious interest that one cannot help but be captivated!
To try to bottle some of that enthusiasm, we're asking them to spare a few minutes to talk about some of their favourite parts of their subject, starting with James, History Tutor and arguably one of our most animated teachers.
In this first part, James talks about the Suffragettes and how they are the perfect example of how society can change the way we remember history.
Trust us, you'll want to learn more!

Our brand new Model United Nations group has got off to a great start this term, recently participating in a two-weekend virtual MUN conference, hosted by Oxford Global
Students from around the world met virtually to debate a range of issues, with a central theme of ‘State Building and Progressive Visions’:
🗣Water as the new oil: discussing the economic measures needed to combat the effects of increasing water scarcity in the 21st century.
🗣Preventing financial crises after COVID-19
🗣Indigenous communities around the world and the right to self-govern
🗣Youth politics
In addition to building on their debating and public speaking skills, our students heard a keynote speech by Jeffrey D. Sachs, Professor of Sustainable Development at Columbia University, and were also given the opportunity to attend Oxbridge admissions workshops, which included insight into the subjects available, as well as valuable application tips.
Our students enjoyed the conference and did extremely well in their debating – here’s to the next generation of UN delegates!

Did you know that we are currently 35th out of over 4,000 schools and colleges in England for progress at A-Level, or Value Added? That means that based on our 2019 results (the last that were counted in the tables) we sit in the Top 1%, with a score of 0.55 - Well above average.
The Value Added score is calculated by comparing the A-Level results of students at this school or college with the A-Level results of students in schools and colleges across England who started with similar results at the end of Key Stage 4 (GCSE).
A score above zero means students made more progress on average than students across England who got similar results at the end of key stage 4.

"Nowadays, we live in a highly competitive world, crammed with many challenges and obstacles. In order to overcome all challenges in life such as entering a good uni or getting a high-paid job, people should gain high-quality education. Oxford Sixth Form College helped me in this because while studying at school I have gained both hard skills or in other words academic skills and soft skills. These 2 types of skills are the basis of a successful life. Thanks to Oxford Sixth Form college for this!"
