We are deeply saddened by the passing of Dame Stephanie ‘Steve’ Shirley - entrepreneur, philanthropist, and Foundation Fellow of Balliol. From refugee to entrepreneur to philanthropist, she lived ‘a life worth saving,’ and her generosity to the College and beyond leaves an enduring legacy.

Balliol is delighted to announce that the Mastership of the College has been offered to Professor Seamus Perry, Fellow and Tutor in English at Balliol since 2003, and currently Vice-Master (Executive), Fellow Librarian and Fellow for Charity Matters. He will assume the post in July 2026.
