An incredible evening at the MCR Guest Night, where we had the absolute pleasure of serving a bespoke 4-course menu for our brilliant students.
Occasions like this are a fantastic reminder of why we do what we do, and I could not be prouder of how our kitchen and front-of-house teams executed the service perfectly from start to finish.
On the menu tonight:
To Begin: Fresh homemade ham hock terrine served with vibrant piccalilli vegetables and a smooth piccalilli aioli.
The Main: Pan-fried, lemon-crusted halibut resting on a bed of crushed spring green potatoes.
To Finish: A crowd favorite that never fails to disappoint—our classic, decadent sticky toffee pudding paired with rich ice cream. 😍
A massive thank you to the entire team for their relentless dedication, creativity, and teamwork to bring this menu to life. Your hard work behind the scenes is what makes these nights a triumph.
And to our students—thank you for joining us and making the atmosphere so memorable.

A night of culinary connection at the Satellite Kitchen. ✨
The St John’s Main Kitchen team was out in full force for the first of many "Subject Dinners." This 3-course experience was led by our new Chef de Partie, Ryan, who did a fantastic job delivering a menu worthy of the occasion.
There is nothing we love more than treating our Fellows and their students to a bespoke meal. Great work, Ryan! 🍽️

I am incredibly proud to announce that the Main Kitchen team at St John's College, Oxford, has been named a finalist for the Allergy Management category at this year’s UDINE Awards!
This recognition belongs entirely to the team. Behind every plate we serve is a group of people who work with relentless energy, precision, and passion. Seeing that hard work recognized on a national stage is incredibly rewarding for all of us.
Hospitality in a collegiate environment comes with unique challenges, but this team meets them every day with a smile and a commitment to excellence.
Now, we look forward to the finals!
