Oxmeinfo Our page provides learning choices and information to support young people’s health and wellbeing. We are part of our education, employment and training team.

OXME is part of Oxfordshire County Council Children's Services. We are the opportunities team and we provide information and guidance for young people aged 13-19, or up to age 25 with learning difficulties or disabilities (or both) around jobs, courses, training, etc. Although we provide information to all young people, we are particularly concerned with those who are a not in education, employment or training (NEET). You can find details of jobs, training and learning suitable for young people, along with information about drop-ins and job clubs on our website http://oxme.info/earn - information posted on this page is correct at time of posting, we always encourage young people to fully research all opportunities. Applications close this weekend for Science Oxford's October half-term STEM Insight Days, open to Year 10 and 11 students interested in exploring STEM careers. 👇

📣 Applications close this weekend!

Science Oxford’s popular STEM Insight Days are back for October half-term, giving Year 10 & 11 students and equivalent home-educated young people an exciting opportunity to explore where STEM could take them in the future.

For young people curious about science, technology, engineering or maths and thinking about STEM careers, our STEM Insight Days will open their eyes to a variety of roles and help them discover the incredible industries on their doorstep.

Participants will have the chance to:
⚛️ Go behind the scenes at leading STEM organisations, including Oxford Instruments, Vertex, Diamond Light Source.
🔬 Meet scientists, engineers and researchers, hear their career stories, and ask questions about studying and working in STEM
⚡ Take part in hands-on workshops, build practical skills, and experience real-world research
🤝 Connect with other young people who share a passion for science and technology

📆 26th to 28th October 2026
🏫 Science Oxford Centre, OX3 8SB, with trips to external businesses
Places are limited | Free to attend

Do you know a young person interested in a career with Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service (Official)

This taster day on 28 October gives young people aged 15-25 the chance to explore a variety of career pathways, including HR, vehicle maintenance, data and business support.

They'll also enjoy practical demonstrations, take part in hands-on activities, try firefighter practical assessments, and discover the different routes into the service.
