We will be supporting the screening of the Peoples Emergency Briefing in Charlbury on the Thursday and Friday, and will be offering advice to anyone who would like to improve the comfort of their home with growing periods of more extreme weather.

There are still tickets available for the showing on Friday. This is a must watch film which people are praising as an eye-opening and urgent wake up call, but with a strongly hopeful message!

Most retrofit isn't bad. But the gap between "okay" and "great" can mean a colder home, condensation, or wasted spend.

So what does good retrofit actually look like? Here are the five things you should expect from anyone working on your home, whether you're a homeowner, a council procuring at scale, or a community group planning a programme.

1. A whole-home assessment before anyone quotes
2. Whole-house thinking, not a single measure
3. A named Retrofit Coordinator overseeing the work
4. Certified, vetted, accountable professionals (MCS, TrustMark)
5. A ventilation strategy designed in, not bolted on

RetrofitWorks is a co-operative of certified retrofit professionals delivering schemes across the UK. We exist because retrofit at scale only works if quality scales with it.

Save this for your next retrofit conversation.
