DR TOM CRAWFORD:
Our final speaker (and host!) — meet Dr Tom Crawford 🎤♾️
A mathematician who’s built a career on pushing boundaries, Tom is the perfect person to close a day themed Limitless. After guiding us through bold ideas and big conversations, he’ll take the stage himself to explore what happens when we question the limits we assume are fixed — in maths and in life.
Because sometimes, the only real limits… are the ones we never challenge…

LAURA ABRAHAM:
Named the UK’s Young Businesswoman of the Year, Laura is the founder of The Grown-Up School — a global movement turning the hidden rules of adult life into practical, empowering education.
In her TEDxOxford 2026 talk, she asks a powerful question: why do so many people leave school academically capable, yet practically unprepared?
From money and work to housing, health, and civic systems, Laura argues that life skills are the missing tools that unlock confidence, agency, and truly limitless potential.
School taught us to pass exams.
Laura is teaching us how to navigate life.

IOANNA BEZIRTZOGLOU:
A PhD researcher at the Rosalind Franklin Institute, working across King’s College London and the University of Oxford, Ioanna lives at the intersection of science, curiosity, and courage.
In her talk, “Ordinary Is the Starting Point,” she explores how feeling ordinary isn’t a limitation — it’s the launchpad. Blending biophysics with personal insight, she shows how small steps beyond our comfort zone quietly transform who we become.
Scientist. Polyglot. Marathon runner. Relentless question-asker.
Maybe “ordinary” is where everything begins

JESSICA MANCINI: From 18th-century cookbooks to 21st-century misinformation.
Jessica Mancini is a Canadian University of Oxford graduate student in English Literature, specialising in the Romantic Period, book history, and women’s print culture as socio-political critique. Having presented her research at institutions including Harvard, the University of Toronto, and the British Association for American Studies, she explores how texts shape ideology across time. In her first TED talk, Jessica examines the transhistorical nature of propaganda, the urgency of critical thought in an age of anti-intellectualism — and how an 18th-century cookbook unexpectedly changed her life.
