seas. We believe that every psychiatrist has skills and competencies that are used daily in clinical practice. Our courses help doctors to demonstrate those skills with confidence and professionalism, in a structured, time limited setting, using sound clinical judgement and focused communication skills. Over the past eight years, our courses have helped many doctors pass the CASC exam. In a recent sitting, 48% of candidates who passed had been to an Oxfordpsych course in the previous 2 years. OVERSEAS
In addition to running CASC courses overseas, Oxfordpsych have also been asked to introduce constructivist learning strategies, based on adult learning theory, as an alternative to traditional didactic teaching methods, in both undergraduate and postgraduate psychiatry teaching. We have also been involved in training trainers and simulated patients overseas, to enable the delivery of effective teaching strategies to their students. We frequently visit Singapore, Hong Kong, India, UAE and Egypt. We also particularly like to work with doctors who have trained overseas and are now working in the UK, to hep with adjustment to working i na different culture. THE TEAM
Our team of tutors and actors are very experienced in clinical education, including the CASC format, and aim to enable productive learning in a supportive environment.
