🎉 Welcome to our new apprentice cohort!

It’s been a busy start at our Witney centre, with a new group of apprentices joining us and beginning their apprenticeship journey.

Over the coming months, they’ll be developing their practical skills, building their knowledge and gaining valuable experience as they work towards their qualifications in the industry. 🔧⚡

It’s great to see another group of young people taking that first step towards a career in the trades, and we’re looking forward to seeing how they progress.

🎓 Careers Fair – City of Peterborough Academy Post-16 Expo 2026

We were at the City of Peterborough Academy Post-16 Expo 2026, meeting students and parents and talking about the different options available after school.

It was a great opportunity to chat about apprenticeships in plumbing, heating and electrical, answer questions and share what a career in the industry could look like.

With parents also attending, it was great to have those conversations together and help families explore the different routes available for the next step. 👷‍♀️🔧⚡

💷 NEW EMPLOYER PAYMENTS FROM 1 OCTOBER 2026

Thinking about taking on an apprentice? There are now additional financial incentives available to eligible employers.

👷 £1,000 payment

Employers will receive £1,000 if their apprentice is:
• Aged 16–18 when they start
• Aged 16–24 with an EHCP

Paid via the training provider:
➡️ 50% after 90 days
➡️ 50% after 365 days

💰 PLUS – £2,000 hiring payment for non-levy employers

Eligible non-levy employers can receive an additional £2,000 when hiring an apprentice aged 16–24 at commencement.

The apprentice must have been hired by the employer within the 90 days before starting their course.

Paid via the training provider:
➡️ 50% after 90 days
➡️ 50% after 365 days

📅 These new payments apply from 1 October 2026.

🔨 And the good news — we can still take on new apprentices!

Back in 2023, we opened our End Point Assessment (EPA) Centre — and since then, we’ve seen 82 apprentices complete and pass their End Point Assessments with us. 👏

But there’s another number we’re particularly proud of…

🏆 36% achieved a Merit!

That’s a fantastic achievement and a reflection of the hard work, dedication and commitment shown by the apprentices throughout their apprenticeship journey.

A big well done to every apprentice who has reached this important milestone, and to the employers, tutors and assessors who have supported them along the way. 👏

We’ve been out and about again, this time visiting John Fisher Catholic High School for their careers fair.

It’s always great to meet students, hear what they’re thinking about for the future and introduce them to career options they may not have considered before.

📚 Back to the careers fairs!

Last night we headed to Abbey College, Ramsey for their Careers Evening — our first careers fair of the new school year.

It was great to be back in a school environment, meeting students, answering questions and talking about the opportunities available in the plumbing, heating and electrical industries.

Events like these are a great chance for young people to find out what different career paths look like, ask questions and start thinking about what they might want to do after school.

A big thank you to Abbey College for inviting us and to everyone who came along to chat with us. 👋

And with the new school year underway, we're looking forward to plenty more careers events over the coming months!
