Oxford University Friends of MSF This is the official and up-to-date Oxford University Friends with MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders) started in 2016.

We are the Oxford University society dedicated to raising awareness of, and fundraising and campaigning for MSF (Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders). We are a new society set up to Raise Awareness of, Fundraise for, and Campaign for MSF and its associated work. "MSF is an International, independent, medical humanitarian organisation that delivers emergency aid to people affected by armed conflict, epidemics, natural disasters and exclusion from healthcare. MSF offers assistance to people based on need, irrespective of race, religion, gender or political affiliation."Starting in Paris, France in 1981, MSF was created under humanitarian principles as a non-profit and self-governed organisation. It now is a worldwide movement with projects running in 69 different countries. Funding for MSF comes mostly from private sources rather than governments, meaning that organisations like Friends of MSF are integral to its maintenance and to ensure continued care for those people who need it. Oxford University is began its first Friends with MSF society in 2016, with the first academic year in 2016-2017. We hope that many of you can join in the efforts to spread awareness, raise money, and promote this amazing organisation.

World Malaria Day 2024!

Come along to this "Meet the researchers/Q+A event" on Wednesday 1st May 2024 6-7pm (online). This is for anyone who may be interested in malaria research studies in Oxford. Find out more about the science, the concept of a "malaria challenge" and ask the experts!

This tuesday at 6PM, Oxford Friends of MSF will be hosting an online talk on malaria. We’ll be joined by Chris Peskett (MSF nurse deployed in countries from Sudan to Myanmar) and Andrew Duncan (malaria vaccine researcher in Oxford). Their presentations on tropical vaccines research and administration will be followed by a Q&A.
