📢 Congratulations to Exeter College student Naeema Mehmood (2020, Integrated Immunology; 2022, DPhil Medical Sciences), who has been awarded first place for Scientific Excellence at the MRC Weatherall Institute of Molecular Medicine (WIMM) Day 2026 poster competition.

Naeema presented a poster on her DPhil research and received the Institute’s top poster prize for Scientific Excellence, marking the second time she has received the award during her doctorate.

📢 Congratulations to Dr Natasha Holcroft-Emmess, Stipendiary Lecturer in Law at Exeter College, who has been awarded the Oxford Nicolas Berggruen Prize for Best Doctoral Dissertation in Philosophy, Law & Politics 2026.

The prize recognises outstanding doctoral research. Dr Holcroft-Emmess received the award for her dissertation examining the suspension of obligations under international human rights treaties during times of war or public emergency.

📢 Congratulations to Exeter College alumna Dr Ursula Hackett (2006, PPE; 2009, MPhil Politics), who has been appointed the inaugural Churchill Associate Professor in US Politics at the University of Oxford’s Rothermere American Institute.

The newly endowed post will support the launch of the University’s first specialist MSc in American Politics and marks Dr Hackett’s return to Oxford.
