Applique workshop ,Saturday 20th June, 11-3pm, cost £60
Fancy a change, then this next workshop could be just the thing.
During the session we will look at different methods of applique. Our main approach will be to first use pre cut shapes to create the start of your design, then stepping over to do a bit of free machine embroidery to apply your design. Giving you a chance to have a go at two new skills. For more info and to sign up for this great workshop just email direct.

Not to be out done , Sandra ( adult regular classes) decided not on something for herself but a gift for a friend who is expecting a baby soon. This baby bag which attaches to the handles of the buggy is such a great make, how lucky she is to have a friend in Sandra. Well done, so cute

With vintage on your mind, here we see Heather with her project almost completed, a lovely summer dress mad from a vintage simplicity 1950s pattern. The fabric used was purchased at the same time both from a local charity shop also turned out to be some unused new Laura Ashley fabric which was made in the 1980s. Both great finds and at just £3 for the fabric and pattern, well done Heather

Another from my teenage sewers Connie, does like sorting new patterns and then recycling fabric for the project, here we have a great new bag

Now on to Eleanor, you may remember her starting to make yo yos, if not knowing what these are they are small ( very small) circles of fabric to which you run a tiny line of thread round, then pull up, to make them puff out. These can then be sewn on to anything to embellish the project and after working on these for a while she decided that they most defiantly were going to be on something for herself. Enhance the finished cushion with her initial on it. Well done great work.

Ada also had kind thoughts, in that if she made a room tidy for her bedroom in turn this may mean less tidying up for her mum, fingers crossed, great work, just love this one, also think her smile says it all on completing this project

Another kind sole , Olive thought it would be nice to give all her friends a hair scrunchie in their goodie bags at her party. Here you see the tower of scrunchies ready for packing.
