Sad and Happy News

After 10 years of happy sewing retreats at Waunifor, the great place is now closing. After a lengthy try to sell, the decision to close has been made with the properties most likely now to go to auction. Such happy times were had by all on so many stays and I am sure so many of you will have great memories of the place.

But all is not lost as we plough on and have now found a super new place for our sewing retreats, no closer to home, in fact only just around the corner from Waunifor , it looks a fab farm house and we will be trying it out this autumn ( pics of us and the place I am sure will soon be on here for your all to view.) If of course you like what you see , make sure you get your names down for the next trip.

Lastly many thanks Waunifor - we will miss you

THE GREAT SALE

Well the sale has proved to be just that, a great sale, a big thank you to all who contributed to it and those that purchased.
You will be pleased to learn that just under £500 pounds has now been raised, I am sure you will agree this is amazing. A big thanks you to all who helped me reach this total.

The amount will be divided between two charities - British Heart Foundation and Diabetes UK 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏

Last class before the summer break, what better idea than to make a useful item for your holiday. Olive I hope this comes in useful , what a super bag, just love your idea of the added embroidered patches

Lets think the family that sews together stays together, no seriously , it is lovely to have sisters attending. Erin and Isabelle started off their sewing a couple of years ago and here in the last session before the summer we see them completing yet more great items. Now both of their sisters have joined the junior sewers and already making some super items. Well done all

Its all new.

New to the Tuesday social sewing group , also new to sewing , Deb wished to have a go at something for her new grandchild ( due very soon)

Just look at the finished romper suit, fab make , well done, one very lucky grand child I think, a whole new wardrobe could be heading their way.

Well give a child the opportunity to try something new and they just take off at break neck speed, whizzing through "how to" and turn out some great new work.

This is just what Heather did yesterday when I spoke of learning some simple free motion machine embroidery which she could later try out on some of her patchwork. I said have a go. The results were amazing , not sure if she will wish to do some at a later date on any patchwork or just get into creating even more pictures. Well done great work.
