Professor Rasul is a labour economist and has been the recipient of IZA Institute Young Economist Prize and the Yrjö Jahnsson Award. He is President-elect for the Royal Economic Society for 2024.

This week, we are very excited to announce that we will be hosting Sir Charles Bean, the former Chief Economist and Deputy Governor at the Bank of England. This will be one of our biggest speaker events this term, and we will be hosting both coffee chats and a general presentation. Sir Charles Bean is a former Chief Economist and Deputy Governor at the Bank of England. He served as Deputy Governor from 2008-2014, helping steer the United Kingdom through the financial crisis. Sir Bean earned his PhD from MIT and served as President of the Royal Economics Society from 2013-2015. Join us for an exciting talk about his experience at the reins of British monetary policy through the turbulent Great Recession.
