🎨🌈 Exploring Emotions Through Colour! 💕✨

Today, our Little Creators had a wonderful time exploring their emotions through art and colour! 🖌️😊

The children were fascinated as they mixed different paints together, watching with excitement as new and vibrant colours appeared! 🌈🎨 Their curiosity kept them engaged for a wonderful length of time, leading to some lovely conversations about how they were feeling and how their emotions can change and develop. 💭💕

We also added sand into our creations, creating interesting textures and making our artwork even more exciting! 🏖️🖌️ The children loved experimenting, getting messy and discovering what happened when different materials and colours came together. 🤩

Through this creative experience, the children were developing their ability to express themselves, explore their feelings and make choices, all while having lots of fun! 💗🎨

🚀✨ 3, 2, 1… BLAST OFF! 🌙⭐

What a delightful surprise for our Little Adventurers this morning! 🪐💫 We discovered some outer-space themed playdough along with star cutters ⭐, giving the children the chance to get creative and make their very own moons, stars and space-inspired creations! 👩‍🚀👨‍🚀

As they squished, rolled, pressed and cut the playdough, our little explorers were developing their fine motor skills, hand strength and hand-eye coordination ✋👀, while using their imaginations to create their own wonderful space adventures! 🌌🚀

Our little Creators and Learners have been getting creative for Space Week! 👩‍🚀🪐✨

The children explored some fantastic space-themed pictures 🌌⭐ and were encouraged to look closely at the different patterns and shapes before having a go at copying them using a paintbrush in the mud! 🖌️🤎

What a wonderful way to combine imagination, creativity and physical development! 🌟 The children were developing their hand-eye coordination, control and precision as they carefully moved their brushes through the mud, while also using their curiosity and observational skills to recreate the patterns. 👀👐

And of course… getting a little muddy along the way made it even more fun! 😂🤎🌿

Our little Explorers and Adventurers had the most wonderful morning getting creative in the garden with mud painting! 🪵🖌️🤎

There’s something so special about letting children get messy, explore natural materials and see where their imaginations take them! ✨ From mixing and experimenting to creating their own unique masterpieces, everyone had so much fun. 🥰

Today we got creative with all things pumpkin! The children enjoyed making their very own **pumpkin plates using bright orange paint**, while having some real pumpkins available to explore and investigate alongside the activity. 🧡

Having real pumpkins to look at, touch and talk about made the experience even more meaningful, giving the children the opportunity to notice their **colour, shape, size and texture** while developing their understanding of the autumn season. 🍁

This activity supported:
🎨 **Creativity and self-expression** – creating their own pumpkin designs.
✋ **Fine motor skills** – developing control through painting and mark-making.
👀 **Observation skills** – exploring real pumpkins and noticing their features.
🗣️ **Language development** – learning and using words such as *pumpkin, orange, round, smooth, bumpy* and *stem*.

We’re celebrating Space Week with a lovely **moon-themed sensory tray**, giving the children the opportunity to explore, investigate and let their imaginations take off! ✨

Alongside our activity, we’ll be enjoying two lovely space-themed stories: **“Busy Day, Astronaut”** and **“Snail in Space.”** 📚🐌🚀

This experience supports the children’s:
🌙 **Understanding of the world** – exploring space, the moon and the wider world around us.
👐 **Sensory development** – investigating different textures and materials.
🗣️ **Language development** – introducing new vocabulary and encouraging conversations about space.

🌳❤️ **Our Compliments Tree is Growing!** ❤️🌳

We have been receiving so many lovely compliments from our wonderful families — whether they have been shared with us verbally, through emails or via our nursery app — that we thought it was time to give those kind words a special place in our nursery! 🥰

So, we have created our very own **Compliments Tree** in our hallway! 🌳✨

Each leaf features a lovely piece of feedback that has been shared with us by our families, celebrating the wonderful experiences they and their children have had at nursery.

We thought this would be such a lovely way for our **new and prospective families** visiting the setting to see the positive feedback we receive from the families who already know and trust us. ❤️ We are so proud of the relationships we have built with our families, and it means so much to us when they take the time to share their experiences.

But our Compliments Tree isn't just for our families — it's also for our incredible team! 🌟

We wanted to create something that reminds our staff just how appreciated they are and allows them to see, in one place, the impact they have every single day.

Sometimes, in the busyness of nursery life, we don't stop and recognise just how much we achieve. Today, reading through all of these lovely comments made us incredibly proud of our little team. 🥹❤️

Every compliment represents a moment where a member of our team has made a difference — whether that's through a warm welcome in the morning, a special experience for a child, supporting a family, going the extra mile, or simply providing the love, care and nurturing that our children deserve.

🍂🎨 **Autumn Stencil Printing in the Garden!** 🎨🍂

What a beautiful autumn day to take our creativity outdoors! ☀️🍁

Our children enjoyed a lovely **autumn-themed printing activity in the nursery garden**, making the most of the beautiful autumn sunshine. We set up a creative space on a mat in the garden, providing a selection of colourful paints and a variety of autumn-inspired stencils for the children to choose from.

The children were encouraged to **make their own choices**, selecting the stencils and colours they wanted to use before experimenting with printing and creating their own unique autumn artwork. 🍂🖌️

This simple activity supported so many areas of learning, including:

🎨 **Creativity & self-expression** – The children could explore their own ideas and create artwork in their own individual way.

✋ **Fine motor development** – Holding the stencils, using the printing tools and carefully applying the paint helped strengthen the small muscles in their hands and fingers, supporting future writing skills.

👀 **Hand-eye coordination** – Positioning the stencils and carefully applying the paint encouraged the children to develop control and coordination.

🧠 **Decision-making & independence** – Choosing their own stencil and colours gave the children ownership over their creations and encouraged them to make independent choices.

🍁 **Understanding the world** – Using autumn-themed shapes provided opportunities to talk about the changing season, colours, leaves and the natural world around us.

🗣️ **Language development** – We talked about the colours, shapes, patterns and the children's creations, encouraging them to describe what they were doing and share their ideas.

🌿 **Learning outdoors** – Taking our creative experiences outside allowed the children to explore and learn in a different environment while enjoying the fresh air and beautiful autumn surroundings.

We loved watching the children explore the materials at their own pace, experiment with different combinations and proudly admire their finished prints. ❤️

🍊🍪 Orange Cookies! 🍪🍊
Today, the children enjoyed some creative baking fun outdoors! 🌿☀️ While playing with playdough in the garden, they decided they were going to make some delicious orange cookies! 😋🍊

The children chatted about all the different things they could bake, sharing their ideas and using their imaginations to create their own pretend treats. 🧁🥨🍰

They also demonstrated some fantastic rolling-pin skills, carefully rolling, flattening and shaping their playdough. 💪🎨 They showed great control and coordination as they worked — and, of course, plenty of creativity! ✨

This lovely experience supported the EYFS through:

🎨 Expressive Arts & Design – using imagination and creativity in pretend play.

🗣️ Communication & Language – talking about baking, sharing ideas and developing vocabulary.

🤲 Physical Development – strengthening hand muscles and developing fine-motor control through rolling and shaping.

🤝 Personal, Social & Emotional Development – enjoying shared play, taking turns and building confidence.
