We're so proud of our A Level pupils after our results day this week - with our pupils achieving a 98% pass rate and two thirds with a Grade C or above! This is your first step towards promising futures, university and beyond. Our Head, Jane Evans, was also incredibly proud this week, saying: these incredible results reflect our genuinely well balanced offering strong academics alongside excellent pastoral care.

Pioneering conservatoire-level actor training for stage and film!

We're ecstatic about this September's debut of our Signature Collective Programme - The Green Room, our brand new partnership with the Oxford School of Drama🎭️! The Green Room is a world class opportunity to study A‑Level Drama and Theatre while training with the focus, quality and discipline typically found in drama school foundations.

The course provides specialist actor training centred on acting craft including voice, movement and screen performance. It's also designed to be flexible - as it will run outside of school hours, it will enable any post-16 pupil to participate without changing schools. Check out https://wychwoodschool.org/signature-collective-programmes/the-green-room/ to learn more!

We're looking for teenage football pros⚽️! Here at Wychwood, we're proud to partner with JMFA - a modern football academy integrated into a traditional school setting that combines elite, UEFA-level coaching with flexible education pathways, so players don’t have to choose between football and their academic future.

Established in 2025, we offer two core routes: a state-funded sixth form programme for 16-18-year-olds, and a private school pathway for students aged 13-18 - both available as day and with weekly / full boarding options. Our high-performance environment delivers real match exposure, game intelligence, and player profiling, while prioritising strong academic outcomes.

With direct exposure and clear pathways into professional clubs, UK universities, US scholarships, and careers in the wider sports industry, through Wychwood School the JMFA develops complete athletes, without compromising academic attainment. We're also delighted to announce that our 2026-2027 season will be expanding, and we'll be adding a Girls Squad⚽️!

With so many families looking at their schooling options for the coming autumn, and A Level results about to drop, we wanted to share a little bit about why Wychwood is the perfect place for Sixth Form and A Level success.

With over 20 options at A Level, an in-house football academy, and two Signature Collective programmes (including an A Level in AI - a UK first), we pride ourselves on our diversity of academic excellence, and the extent to which we tailor education for our pupils.

We're also super proud of the fact that the percentage of grades 7-9 at GCSE level were double the national average, and 40% of pupils who took the Extended Maths GCSE qualification achieved a Distinction. Foundations like these allow Year 12 pupils to start their Sixth Form study on a strong footing💪.

Before term broke up, we sat down with our head, Mrs Evans, to find out what she's planning on reading this summer! The third book she's recommending is a book from one of Britain's most celebrated academic experts - Let's Hear it From the Boys by Gary B Wilson!

A practical guide to raising boys' achievement in secondary education, drawing on real-life testimonies from countless discussions with boys over ten years. It tackles aspects of learning from exams and essay-writing to rewards and punishments, equipping teachers with actionable strategies to address the persistent gender achievement gap.

We invite everyone to join Mrs Evans and read together!
