Casual job opportunity: Assistant for weekly seminars
The European Studies Centre holds weekly seminars on Tuesdays at 5 pm and sometimes on a Wednesday. These seminars feature guest speaker/s and an audience. Some events are hybrid, and most are recorded.
We are looking for a reliable and tech-savvy assistant to set up and manage Zoom sessions and recordings, edit the recordings, and write a report/blog of the seminar for our website.
The role requires availability once (sometimes twice) a week, for around 3 hours. Compensation will be provided at an hourly rate of £12.49 plus holiday pay.
Key Responsibilities:
• Setting up and managing Zoom sessions for each seminar ensuring high-quality audio and video capture;
• Handling technical aspects during the session (managing Q&A, etc.
• Taking detailed notes during the talk;
• Downloading the recording and editing any gaps;
• Writing clear and concise blog posts based on the presentations.
Ideal candidate
• Experience with Zoom or similar video conferencing platforms.
• Strong writing and editing skills, with experience in blog or content creation.
• Interest in European studies, international relations is a plus
