Congratulations to Sir Andrew Pollard, Director of the Oxford Vaccine Group and Fellow of St Cross College, whose team has launched the world's first clinical vaccine trial for the Bundibugyo strain of Ebola virus.
This pioneering research is an important step towards protecting communities against one of the world's most serious infectious diseases and demonstrates the life-changing impact of research taking place across the University of Oxford.

We are incredibly proud to see St Cross alumnus Dr Thomas Monahan (2022, DPhil Engineering Science) featured in a major new study published in Science.
Dr Monahan's research investigates the aftermath of an astonishing 481-metre megatsunami in Alaska, triggered by glacial retreat. By analysing the resulting "landslide-induced seiche" (long-lived standing waves), his work is providing essential new insights into complex natural hazards in a warming world.
Please join us in congratulating Thomas on this fantastic contribution
