The Taylor Institution is the University's centre for the study of modern European languages and literatures.

Its library contains the largest specialist research collections in the field in Britain, together with a separate teaching collection for undergraduates and (taught) postgraduates.

🔔New Exhibition Alert🔔

Our new exhibition "Women and Resistance in Russia" opens 22nd January in the Voltaire Room.

The exhibition presents the history of political activism and resistance to power by women over 100 years, from Aleksandra Kollontai to P***y Riot.

There will be a guided tour of the exhibition taking place Tuesday 23rd January at 5pm.

We are running tours of the Library to help you make the most of our study spaces, resources and collections:

📆: Monday the 15th to Friday the 19th of January.
🕒: 11:30 and 15:00

This tour is suitable for all research levels and students in any year group who want to become more familiar with the Taylor Institution Library. Tours are given by library staff who are on hand to answer any queries you might have about the layout of the library or how you should go about looking for books and resources to support your research.

To book, email us at [email protected] up to 5pm the day before your chosen slot. Note, individual tours will not run if they have no bookings, so please email to avoid disappointment!
