⚽⚽⚽ Some recent Cowley Cup results - first up were the girls facing St Frideswide. The league meeting earlier in the year saw the away side prevail 8-6, and another tense game ensued this time! The visitors had strength and power and raced into a 3-0 lead in the 1st half, a mixture of fortune and fantastic finishing. Tactical tweaks were made to try and change things, and the comeback started in the 2nd half as Adela arrowed a free kick right into the corner. A 2nd soon followed after a brilliant breakaway, but the visitors hit back again by tapping in after a fantastic save from Mila in goal. However, it wasn't over yet, with Adela scoring a fantastic long range effort to set up a frantic finale, with both defenses on top form in the dying minutes to condemn our girls to a narrow defeat.

The boys then took on Tyndale in a breathless match - despite starting with some promising, probing attacks, the visitors found the smallest of gaps in a tight defense to take a 2-0 lead into half time. Our boys roared back in the 2nd half with 2 goals in the first 4 minutes after some pinpoint crosses finally unlocked the Tyndale back line. It was end to end after that, with the visitors smashing the crossbar twice, goalkeeper Noel making some outstanding saves and Isacc, Maidi and captain Rex drawing superb saves from the opposition keeper. Sadly, the away side got the slice of luck they arguably deserved with 5 minutes left, tapping in after a rasping shot hit the post and bounced favourably. All-out attack in the final minutes then left the space for another rocket of a shot to take a wicked deflection to make the game safe for Tyndale despite a heroic effort from our boys.
