Hey Folks! Welcome back!

Our Easter Jam was great fun, it was so nice to see so many students getting up and performing!

It's been great catching up with everyone this week as we return to lessons. We'll be working on Rock and Pop songs from after the year 2000 this term, Dave, Andreia, Richard and Peter have some ace songs up their sleeves for this one!

I'd like to welcome the 20+ new starters to this evenings brand new classes in Didcot! If you want to join us for:

Teens and adults group drums, or our adults guitar club on Friday evenings head over to the website or drop Peter an email at [email protected]

We're also working away behind the scenes with Wallingford School in order to bring our super popular drums clubs to Wallingford. We're still sorting the finial details, but it's looking like Tuesday evenings between 4 and 6pm, starting from after the May half term. We had an amazing time at our Easter Jam at The Loose Cannon Brewery! It's times like this I feel so proud of the community that Oxfordshire music School has become. Thanks for all the hard work folks - students, parents, grandparents, friends and family - you're all an integral part of our thriving community!

I had great fun working on some Irish tunes with students in Wallingford this evening! We worked on The Pogues classic Rainy Night in Soho. This was the first time any of the students had worked in anything in 6/8 timing which is great fun!

We've had this beautiful little Martin guitar in for a full restring and clean up from our student Nathan, we fully approve of his collection of OMS Milestone badges on the case too!

This will be restrung and back off to Nathan quick fast!

Celebrating 'Mimic', our teenagers band from Didcot! These guys have been knocking it out of the park lately, performing at festivals and events all over Oxfordshire.

We've got a few spaces to join our classes in Didcot including a new kids guitar club on a Thursday (we've been fully booked for over a year!)

January's lesson theme is Songwriting. We've been showing all of our guitar and band students how to write their own songs using Tom's easy songwriting formula. Here's a snippet from our Adults Band (Wooly Mammoth) in Didcot, they managed to put this together from concept to playing through in around 25 minutes! Well done folks!

The wait is over! We finally have spaces on our kids guitar club in Didcot on a Thursday evening! classes have been sold out here for most of 2024 AND 2025 but we’ve managed to squeeze a new class in!

Dave will be heading up a new 4pm class for 7-12yr olds every Thursday.

The cat is out of the bag, we’d like to introduce you to our new music school car! We’ll be using this throughout the festival season next year as a stage!

Tom’s been secretly working away on this for the last couple of months and can’t wait for everyone to see it at Boundary Park this afternoon for our Didcot Christmas Cracker event!

Come along 4-7pm TONIGHT at Boundary Park in Didcot for live music, Christmas market and kids can visit Santa FOR FREE!
