Oxford Flute Summer School on tour in Malta! Beautiful concert yesterday at the amazing Sala dei Cavalieri in Valletta. Premiere of the full 3 movements of The Sea Between Two Islands by Pamela Chilvers 💫

🎵  Fergus Davidson
.
With a freelance career of 38 years, Fergus has trialled for practically every UK orchestra, gaining the nickname Super Dep for his reputation for sight-reading some of the most difficult repertoire. He’s performed a huge range of music, from playing instruments like the shakuhachi, bansuri and dizi and performing for West End musicals like The Lion King - Musical to recording with Placido Domingo and for Queen Elizabeth and King Charles. He’s also the owner and maker of FD piccolo headjoints and is in the final stages of designing and making a new piccolo.

Amy has been Principal Flute of The Hallé since 2019 and previously held the same position at the Royal Northern Sinfonia. She regularly appears as guest principal flute for many UK orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia of London and Philharmonia. She is also a flute tutor for the RNCM - Royal Northern College of Music and the The National Youth Orchestra. A graduate of the Royal Northern College of Music, Amy won BFS Young Artist in 2017 while studying for her Masters at the Royal Academy of Music, where she graduated with distinction, a DipRAM award and several prizes.
