Muddy Boots Forest School

Two weeks ago I ran my last ever Forest Tots session.

I've been running FT for 6 years now and both my own children have attended and moved on to school so it has been quite a special experience for me. I've really enjoyed getting to know all the families who have come and especially those who have attended over years - watching your children grow up has been a real privilege and meeting their younger siblings as they've been born has been an extra treat!

Thank you to everyone who has made come along and made Forest Tots just a really lovely community and making work not feel like work!

I will delete this account in the next week or so but I'll be sticking around on Instagram for a while yet (albeit I will change the name at some point):

I'm going to miss running these sessions but it's time for someone new to inject fresh energy into the group.

Next term is the Bluebell term at Forest Tots! It may be my last term running it but atleast we'll still get to enjoy the Bluebells. Forest Tots will return in September 2025 in a new format.

Hill End Outdoor Education Centre

This winter I've been quietly working away at this and have finally completed the course! Using nature to support mental health and wellbeing has become a bit of a passion for me so it was great to be able to take the first steps in learning more and exploring next steps!

"The Certified Outdoor Mental Health Practitioner programme is a fully accredited program designed to enable Forest School Leaders to specialise in mental health.

Following certification, you’ll be equipped to deliver outdoor mental health interventions that support young people with mental health needs, either in a 1:1 or small group setting."

The Therapy Adventure

Today at Forest Tots we made nature wands and cooked bread over the fire. Wasn't quite as warm as last week but the mud has dried up and the site is very much coming back to life. 🌱
