🛡️💙 Happy International Security Officers' Day 2026! 💙🛡️
Today, we proudly celebrate the outstanding men and women of the Oxford Brookes University Security Team.
Whether it's day or night, in sunshine or rain, our officers are on duty 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, working tirelessly to keep our students, staff, visitors and the wider Oxford community safe. From responding to emergencies and providing first aid, to preventing crime, supporting vulnerable people, delivering safety campaigns and simply being a reassuring presence on campus, they make a real difference every single day.
Over the past years, the team's dedication, professionalism and commitment to community safety have earned both regional and national recognition, including:
🏆 National Acquisitive Crime Reduction Award 2024 - Exceptional Team Winner
🏆 AUCSO Security Team of the Year 2025 - Winner
🏆 AUCSO Security Manager of the Year 2026 - Winner
🏆 AUCSO Security Initiative of the Year 2026 - Highly Commended
🏆 AUCSO Security Officer of the Year 2026 - Shortlisted
🏆 AUCSO Security Team of the Year 2026 - Highly Commended
These awards reflect much more than trophies, they recognise a team that goes above and beyond every day. Through innovative crime prevention initiatives, award-winning cycle theft reduction campaigns, student safety events, partnership work with Thames Valley Police and local agencies, welfare support, emergency response, and countless acts of kindness, our officers help make Oxford Brookes one of the safest university communities in the country.
Today, we simply want to say THANK YOU.
Thank you for your professionalism.
Thank you for your compassion.
Thank you for your commitment.
Thank you for always being there when our community needs you most.
If you see one of our Security Officers today, please take a moment to say hello, give them a smile, or simply thank them for everything they do. It means more than you know. 💙
Happy International Security Officers' Day
