Joy comes in moments, an alive feeling. No floating off, just really inhabiting, without holding on, the marvel of being human.
Nothing is permanent. Part of my recovery journey has been accepting emotions, letting them move through and bringing them out of the shadow, not repressing or labelling them as ālow vibeā.
This has created more space for joy to arise spontaneously and fade naturally, without my mind taking over.

Liars make fake letters. Sent to a former member of Natha/Atman/Misa and ally of survivors. I donāt know who āROGER NELSONā is, or why He signs His name in capitals - One of the many grammatical and linguistic mistakes in this letter! š
I understand the cult leader and teachers in respective schools, including Tara London, went on to speak about this falsified letter, and how it proves that anyone who speaks out against them just wants money. Funny, it never received a replyā¦

I returned to the scene of the crime (well, one of). I had to in order to testify to š«š· authorities.
I was nervous, not to mention worried at having to pay for all transport, accommodation etc myself with no guarantee of reimbursement.
I didnāt know how Iād feel being back there, how it would trigger my CPTSD symptoms, or if Iād see anyone from the cult there.
But I had to go back in order to testify, in fact I was called back twice. 2024 was a tough year!
We do not yet know when this case will go to trail; it is a painfully long process.
But, as a survivor, here are some things I learnt (for me) from going back to the scene of the crime:
āØI could make new, positive memories in a place that just held bad ones.
āØVisiting the tribunal building (slide 3) made me realise how seriously the French authorities are taking these crimes which, as a survivor used to feeling you have to constantly justify yourself, was reassuring
āØI had my own little ritual of releasing significant objects at a place that, til then, had a hold over me (slide 4)
āØI could reconnect with a beautiful city, it was now my relationship with Paris and itsā lovely people. And they canāt affect that.
āØI showed myself how strong and capable I am, facing very difficult situations and getting through them. It was tough on my nervous system, but I took care of myself and treated myself well in my down time š§āāļø (slides 5 and 6)

It was an intense day. I was told by a journalist before police notified us. I couldnāt believe it. Calls between survivors in different countries; disbelief, tears, laughter. I was walking around in a daze for 2 hours.
At the time it happened I couldnāt share anything about it publicly for fear of libel (they had already threatened to sue me). It was only after the podcast release that I was safer to name them.
I also didnāt share anything because I felt sorry for the women whoād been involved, I remembered what it felt like and I knew that many of the people I used to care for and love in that group would be distraught. I didnāt want to appear to celebrate their pain.
But, they donāt care about our pain. They make it worse. And, I realise now that we have cause to celebrate. And we should.
The 14 plus victim-witnesses who originally testified. The 6+ brave victim-witnesses who took their testimony forward to press charges.
The countless others who were harmed, abused, who contemplated su***de, who feel to broken to have a relationship, who feel they lost their chance to have a family, who havenāt been able to hold down a job. The children. The women. The men and boys. The silent, those who canāt do what we did.
A man who, due to the practical support of countless accomplices and the subtle support of thousands of enablers, and the coerced and enforced silence of those heād abused, managed to fool authorities for decades and evade the law.
Until 28th November 2023. Until those 6-14 women.
We managed to defy the statistics and secure what many victim/survivors of abuse will never have: a chance for justice.

the ultimate hypocrisy of these abusive or unethical wellness āgurusā; pretending that he is here to improve the world.
All the while using money (see slide 4), power and even new age spirituality and religious philosophy to, at best, excuse abuse.
Hold all these these āspiritualā grifters and abusers accountable now. Brilliant original post by

The 1stšpublished about the Atman-Tara-Misa-MahaYoga etc cult. Testimony to the international nature of this damaging cult-crime ring.
I, alongside multiple other survivors from different countries, interviewed with .paysen.petersen a few times over Zoom over the course of a year or more and shared evidence with them.
I found their care and dedication to getting this story out inspiring.
I would love to see the book translated to English to reach an even wider audience.

"As a cult and trafficking survivor with a CPTSD diagnosis Iāve been making efforts for 4 years to heal and move forward.
Katieās energy whispering work and sacred dance retreats have been the single most useful external therapy in my journey.
I have made huge progress this year thanks to Katieās work. I now feel a lot of joy and calm, more safety and certainty in my own body, and a type of forgiveness and closure that is different from any mental understanding or practical experience I had before.
Katieās connection to both blue lotus and the energy of Egypt/Egyptian heritage have also been a revelation for me in my daily life".

Early cult recruitment is about personal relationship, trust in some, even one, of the groupās representatives, and personal recommendation.
made the brilliant audience poll of how many are more likely to buy a book if a room full of people (let alone spiritual āteachersā/authority figures) claimed it had changed their life? The answer was resounding.
Here I speak about some of the spiritual aspects of cult recruitment.
When āspiritualā teachers take advantage of the abstract and personal nature of spiritual experiences to convince new members that they (and only they) have what the new recruit is seeking, they are abusing their position as teacher and interceding in the relationship between the student and their experience of their own spirituality, their intuition.
Through positioning themselves and āthe schoolā as having all the answers, all the love etc, they isolate the recruit from the outsider world and from herself, causing increasing dependency. Key in the middle stages of cult recruitment.

I feel passionately about the Osho abuse disclosures as he and his quotes are still used as a pinnacle of new age/Tantric spiritual and s*xu@l freedom by many in spiritual communities. His quotes were often used in the cult I was in and I owned several of his books.
was an abomination in the sense of being wildly incomplete. Telling nothing of the reality of neglect and abuse for many children and adults in the Osho communes.
Nor does it touch on reports of physical and sxu@l abuse during some of the group therapies he created.
āchildren of the cultā is far superior
I was happy to finally read the memoir āIn the shadow of enlightenmentā which Sarito Carroll generously sent me.
After avoiding reading it for months, due to my own cptsd, I then finished it in a few days.
Sarito was separated from her mother (routine practice in the ashrams) as part of the Osho commune, groomed from the age of 9, witnessing multiple s*x acts, (including with other minors), she was then s*xu@lly assaulted by adult men from the age of 12
Neglect&abuse of kids was, it seems, routine in the communes as part of the practice of āfreedom from societyās conditioningā. Given alcohol, groomed by adults
Sarito disclosed her abuse on FB groups for those whoād lived in Osho communes. She was met with a mixture of sympathy and spiritual bypassing ,even debate as to whether s*x with a a 12 yo was abuse! (I recall a similar conversation in a telegram group during the cult years).
In what is a great description of the physical experience of CPTSD she recounts how she disclosed to a friend whoād also grown up in the cult āI finally told her how Milarepa and others had exploited me. As I spoke I could literally feel the adrenaline course through my arms, my jaw tighten, heart pound. āWhy are you so worked up? You seem like it happened yesterdayā she said. Thatās how trauma goes. When Iām triggered, it takes overā
Iām grateful to Sarito for her courage and lucidity in telling her story. The revelations about & his centres, many are still open. Itās changed my perception of his āspiritualityā & helped me understand my experiences as a cult survivor.
