An EM rash is a key early sign of Lyme disease but it’s often misdiagnosed or overlooked. If you notice a rash that’s expanding, round or oval (with or without central clearing), measure its size daily and take photos to track any changes.

An EM rash typically:
✅ Appears 3–30 days after a tick bite
✅ Is rarely itchy or painful
✅ Is over 5cm in diameter
✅ Does not always have a bull’s-eye appearance

Accurate documentation helps when speaking with a GP and can support an earlier diagnosis.
