Oxford Kids Karate Academy A place where Kids can learn the way of life. A place where parents feel happy to see kids shine.

Karate Academy Oxford offers karate classes for children, teenagers, adults and families across Oxford. Founded by Sensei Natasha Pirogova, the academy welcomes complete beginners as well as experienced students and advanced grades. Classes are available in Botley, Jericho, Summertown and Cutteslowe, with training for different ages and levels, from our youngest Prep students through to advanced karate and competition training.

Belts are extremely important when you're seven 🙂

Tomorrow is grading day! 🥋
There will be nerves, of course. But grading isn't the day we find out what you can do. We already know. Tomorrow is your chance to put it all together and say: LOOK WHAT I CAN DO NOW.
Pass? Brilliant. You earned it. Be ridiculously proud.
Don't pass? Ask me why. You were invited to grade because I believed you were ready. That makes the result my responsibility too. If I got that wrong, I failed too. We'll work out what happened, fix it and smash it in December.
But whatever happens, enjoy the day! Come early. Train with children from other classes. Meet new people. Do three hours of karate. Be nervous together, laugh together, cheer for each other. Hopefully make a new friend or two.
Of course the belt matters. But don't forget to enjoy everything that comes with it too.

If you don’t have enough hours to qualify for October grading, well... there you go. 😄
Visiting a school Open Morning doesn’t count as an absence from karate. More than that, it can count towards your karate attendance, even if you weren’t planning to train that Saturday anyway.
Go and explore. Choosing a school is important. ❤️ And let me know how it went!

Dear Parents,

A little reminder that there will be no karate classes on Monday 7 September due to St Giles’ Fair. Tuesday class is on as usual.

All other classes are running as normal.

RETURNING TO KARATE THIS SEPTEMBER? 🥋

Dear Parents,

If you stopped karate for any reason, you are always, and I mean ALWAYS, welcome back.

For the first few weeks, please pretend you're brand new 😄 and book by AGE, not grade.

Your old place may already be taken, so please choose another available class for now. I'll try to get you back into your preferred class once the September rush is over, but for now all lessons must be pre-booked and definitely no drop-ins. The last thing I want is to turn you away because you've booked the wrong class. Awkward for everyone. 😬

If none of the slots work, keep an eye on the website. Spaces come up as we work through trials, assessments and placements. Or just ask if you're unsure. My phone is on until late and I'm picking up all messages myself this month.

Can't see the class you'd like to join, or the age restriction doesn't allow you to book?

Please get in touch rather than booking a class for a different age group. I'm personally picking up all messages and emails this month and, even with the busy start to the new term, I still have some flexibility.

For children 7+, we have classes six days a week with more times available.

Come and try a class for free. No previous experience needed.

Very happy with the AA breakdown service. You guys are amazing! My car is back on the road with a new battery and a 5-year warranty.

A separate shout-out to my lovely neighbour, who rescued me and drove me to karate on Saturday morning with about three minutes' notice to get ready. 😂

And thank you so much to our members who offered lifts and to help with the cost. I was really touched by the kindness. ❤️
